Who has a portable generator that works with their RV?

Hello,

I purchased a new 2022 Jayco Pinnacle 37MDQS and my previous fifth wheel was a North Point 377RLBH. I also have a Yamaha 3000iSEB generator that I purchased 4yrs ago.

This generator worked fine with the 2020 North Point, but it will not run the 2022 Pinnacle. I hauled the trailer to my dealership, along with the generator to have it looked at.

Dealership is telling me they have discovered some of the new trailers will not run when plugged into a generator that has a Neutral Floating Ground. The transfer switch does not like the power the generator is putting out. I've been looking at generators and I see most all have this feature.

Well now I am unsure what to do. I can go ahead and spend $9,000cad and have the Onan onboard installed but that is a little expensive. Anyone out there using a Yamaha or Honda to run their new trailer 2022 or 2023 model? Or what make and model are you using?

Thanks

I have Westinghouse IGen 4500DF and it works great with my 317RLOK. Have you installed the small plug that you put in one of the 115V outlets? I bought one on Amazon for ~ 20$ and it works fine with our generator/RV.
Here is the description to search on Amazon:

Don't spend a bunch of money. I'm pretty sure there is a simple work around. There are several electrical savvy individuals on the forum that will chime in with a solution. I know if you have an EMS/surge protector it's as simple as taking a three prong plug and connecting the ground and neutral together with a short wire and plugging it into the generator.

All you need is a neutral / Ground Bonding plug that you plug in to one of the 110 volt outlets on the generator. You can make one very inexpensively or buy one pre made. Here is an example;
