Will it fit???

Hello....new to posting but have read so many great and informative threads. We have a 2018 28.5 RSTS which came gen prepped. It seems many people use the Cummins Onan 5500 and our gen prep looks specific to LP fuel. The deminsions of the front bay opening and the height of the 5500 seem incredibly close, like a fraction of an inch with the bay only minimally larger. Has anyone put the 5500 LP in this particular unit? It would stink to order it only to find it wont fit. Thanks so much !!😀

I would say yes. We purchased a 2018 27.5 RLTS gen prepped.
Did the dealer install, Onan 5500LP. May be an overkill with a single air.
I dont regrett it but it does add pin weight. Its alot of gen for making coffee.
Enjoy.

The Gen prep is designed for the Onan 5500. So yes, it will fit. We installed one in our 2017 Eagle 293rkds. I put sound deadening material in my compartment prior to installing. I also added a couple more CO detectors.

catzr...Thank you. We added a second AC so, based on all I've read, we believed the 5500 was the best way to go. Hard to say though because the darn thing is in the shop already after only going on a shake out two-night, three-day trip. We "shook" it out all right. The AC's would only blow hot air and the outside temp was about 101 deg F. The inside temp of the rig seemed hotter than outside so our trip quickly turned to an overnighter. Once at the shop, we learned that the AC's will only bring the interior temp down about 20 deg. Still, 80 deg would be far better than the over 100 we sat in inside.

Ours was gen prepped and we just had a 7000 gas put in (yes, it was gas prepped). Fit perfectly.
