Black tank sensor frustrations and small victory

OMG finally.... after much rinsing and re-rinsing... finally got my black tank to read "Empty" after draining.... I was not sure if I'd ever see it read empty ever again.

It took running the black tank flush with valve closed until reading full and then running macerator with drain open until it sounded empty 5 times before it actually read empty.

I had to take a screenshot to prove that empty was not pure fiction.

Tongue firmly in cheek.... Suggestions for the UI designers..... Should re-title the different levels on the user interface to read:
Empty -> "Brand-new, you probably wont ever see this again."
33% -> "You have 1 drop of water in your black tank"
66% -> You have 2 drops of water in your black tank"
Full -> "Either you have 1 spec of crud on the sensor, or you are 1 flush from disaster, no way of knowing, unless you've been counting the flushes the whole time."

Thank you for indulging me in my rant/brag.

Congratulations! Please update this thread in a month or two when you have to do it again. Then again. And again...

It's a never ending battle.

And I lost that one, and don't care anymore that my black tank sensors always show 'FULL'.

My flashlight is my tank level sensor now.

What are three things in life that are certain?

1. Death
2. Taxes
3. Inaccurate Black/Gray Tank Sensors.

Horst Miracle Probes??

Has anyone tried these? For $31 and having to drill my tank I'll keep suffering with inaccurate tank readings till someone says these won't take any.....crap!

Yes. I bought both sets, and replaced the gray tank sensors. Those work great. We use a wand to flush the black, and the originals still work fine for now, so the new ones are still in the package. I'll replace those when I feel like crawling under the TT for a while.

You can indeed drill new holes if you wish, but there's a You Tube video on how to pop the old ones out without damaging the tank, using a fender washer, and a 5/8" box wrench. It works slick.

If you really want accuracy that works, look at the Seelevel system. Mine works great. Mounts on the outside of the tank.
