Seneca Exhaust Ground Clearance

Greetings all,

We are recent owners of a 2019 Seneca 37RB and so far are quite pleased with it overall...still trying to fix the wind noise from the mirrors but gaining on it.

I do have a concern regarding the very close proximity of the exhaust pipe to the ground. It appears to be only about 4 or 5 inches. I expressed concern to the dealer when we were shopping but a new 2020 was the same.

It did drag slightly as I was exiting a relatively modest grade onto the highway so I am concerned that a less than level campsite or steeper grade may cause damage to it.

So the question...is this a concern for other Seneca owners and has anyone had the exhaust pipe modified to provide greater ground clearance?

Thanks in advance.

We have a 2020 Accolade and I wondered about the same thing, at first. My driveway had a couple of incline/decline spots going through a weir and if I don't scrape on those going in or out of the driveway (pulling in or backing in) I feel I won't have any issues. I think the only issue would be a deep V or U shaped gutter at the edge of the road.

I am, however, keeping an eye on it. We have our third trip scheduled for this weekend. The trip will be 5 days and about 500 miles round trip to the mountains of Virginia. We then have a one week 400 mile round trip to the ocean scheduled for the end of the month.

I have the exact same concern on my Seneca when I start taking it out. It certainly is quite low to the ground...

Thanks,
Jeff

Mine was pretty low and even though I had never dragged even in some pretty extreme situations I decided to look into this. I figured out that if you loosen the band clamp before the bend and drop and then loosen the U-bolt that holds the pipe to the bracket the tail pipe can be rotated up about 2". You need to get the bolts nice and tight as the first time I did it, with vibration, it slipped back down. I did this a second time and made sure everything was torqued to German specs (gutentight) and it has been fine since.

Just went out and looked... Our lowest point is 10 3/4 from the ground.

In the second pic I posted, if you look, you can see the pipe is not parallel with the bracket, the tip is angled down. Thats what I noticed first that led me to checking out the brackets.
