2020 Eagle counter top

Have a 2020 Eagle HT and the kitchen countertop laminate is bubbled up. Does anyone know what material is used on these countertop? I am thinking of replacing myself instead of having to take to dealer and wait four months.
Thanks

Wilson Art and Formica were the 2 big laminate companies in the US. I'd go to Lowes or HD since they have all the samples of what's available color wise.

With that said you may want to get a syringe and needle, drill a hole the size of the needle and inject some contact cement first. Let is sit for a few minutes and put some weight on it overnight. If it doesn't work no harm, no foul.

If it’s like the one in my small Starcraft travel trailer, it’s not a laminate, it’s more like a tape. If you get the smallest drop of water on it and not wipe it up, it bubbles up. Cheap/cheap stuff. I put blue tape on a spot of scrap countertop, and the blue tape pulled it off the particle board backing.

I wonder how much it would cost to put in a nice Quartz or granite countertops. Or put down plywood and put down Quartz tile without a grout line.

EPA requires commercial enterprises use latex-based glue rather than the old (stinky & highly flammable) solvent-based glue. It gets sprayed on, and it dries faster than solvent-based glue. As a result of hurried, uneven application, air bubbles under the laminate on countertops is not an uncommon problem. Before you start drilling holes and trying to push glue through a syringe, you might want to try a clothes iron. Lay a towel over the countertop where the laminate is loose (to protest it from the direct heat of the iron), and set the iron to its highest setting. Once it heats up, iron the towel over the loose laminate spots. Let the iron set on each spot for several seconds to melt the glue underneath. Next, remove the iron and the towel and roll the countertop with a rubber laminate roller. Use as much pressure as you can muster, and roll toward the front edge to move out any trapped air. If you don't have a laminate roller, you can use a rolling pin or even a wine bottle, but leave the towel in place, so you don't scratch the laminate. it doesn't hurt to place a few heavy books over the ironed spots until they completely cool.

That should take care of the problem areas!

I believe they're using "thermofoil" products for those countertops. At least that's what they used in my rig. And I hate it.

It's a thin layer of vinyl that's vacuum bonded to MDF to create a countertop. The "foil" wraps around the edges, but not all the way around the bottom of the openings or countertops. This has the potential to create water intrusion into the MDF countertop base which becomes a BIG problem. Also, if there's a small cut in the material in a "wet" area (like in the kitchen or bathroom), water can get through there and into the MDF, again, causing deterioration of the underlying material and swelling.

So far, the only real problem I've had with this counter-top material has been with the sink inserts. The edge where the thermofoil and the underside of the insert meet is not sealed, so water has gotten in there and swelled the MDF. Also, in my kitchen area, the print on the foil is blurry. I've gotten mostly used to that, so I don't worry with it too much. Except every now and then I look at it and get a little frustrated with it.

It very well could be that water has gotten under the foil in OP's application and caused the underlying MDF to swell. It may be more than just a bubble in the vinyl. If it is just a bubble, I might try the heat treatment that Brownie talks about above, but I'd be VERY careful. The LAST thing you want to do is create a breach in that vinyl, so I don't think injecting glue is the right solution here.

The moment there is a critical failure in this countertop, I'm going to have it all replaced with something like Corian that is light-weight, and completely impervious to water.

Since it's a 2020, assuming OP purchased it new, it should be covered under Jayco's warranty. In this case, I would have it repaired under warranty. And believe me, I know what hassle that entails, so I don't offer that solution lightly. Hopefully your dealer will work with you on timing of the repair so they can have it when you're not using it. Or perhaps you could have Jayco authorize repair by a cabinet specialist familiar with the particular type of material you're dealing with.

we had some water get in-between the outside edge band of our countertop and and the MDF. Ours dried and shrunk back down enough so we could reattach the banding. we took the kitchen white silicone calk in a squeeze tube and sealed every edge. where the band met the counter top. we lifted the top of the stove like you where cleaning the burners and took the calk and smeared it on like paint on all the unfinished edges of the mdf cutout we could reach for the stove. and sealed around the sink too. to help prevent more swelling. then later on the AC leaked on the floor and the bottom of the cabinet corner swelled up. as soon as this mdf falls apart so much my wife cant stand it no more i think i am going to replace the sink base with one made of plywood and maybe put in a butcher block counter top and seal it with that food safe oil i don't remember what it is called.

If that's all you would be OK, I was thinking the Island and associated counters

Looks Sharp. I also liked your old counter tops. Both are an improvement on what came in our TT.

I found out quick if you’re not handy. Or like repairing things don’t get a camper.

Is it possible to just have a new oversized countertop installed?
I have a 2018 pinnacle 38kpts and would love for my island to be large enough to eat at comfortably.

Live on Long Island and have had fluctuating temps. Went out to the trailer to bring something out and saw this crack on the kitchen counter. I was able to lift the covering right off like any glue had given up. I was in there right before Christmas and didn’t see any issues until yesterday. I don’t see any impact damage or and signs of water. Is this a common issue? We are out of warranty and not even sure how to fix it.
