If I ran across a messed up 30 Amp socket, which I have, I wound use a 50 to 30 Amp dog bone adapter.

But there is!
All of the molded plugs have the ground on the bottom!

50 to 30?

I have read some of my fellow Jayco owners with 30a units write that they plug into the 50a outlet (with an adapter).

Is there a good reason for that or is it urban legend or what?

Thanks

Many 30 amp sockets are worn out from excessive use which can cause poor connections which in turn will lead to overheated plugs. 50 amp sockets don't get used as much so they are usually in better condition.

Went through every image of a 30 or 50 amp MALE plug on Google and every one has the ground at the top
