Battery, how to keep charges through winter?

Heading into my 2nd winter with a TT. Last spring, I returned to a completely dead battery. I live in Iowa, fyi, so fairly harsh winters. What do I need to buy to keep my battery charged through the winter in my basement?

Thanks in advance!!

Cheapest and easiest is a battery tender jr. I have used these on all my vehicles and batteries do last longer

I've got a 'trickle charger' that I use for a spare battery in the garage (not as cold here).

The trailer is next to the house so I leave it plugged in all winter.

I remove the battery in the winter and store it in the garage. It also gets to -35 where I live and this kills batteries over a winter.

Was the battery left on the TV last winter? Did you disconnect the battery.

A full charge, healthy battery that is disconnected will be fine all winter.

I remove my battery, and store it in my garage on a couple blocks of wood. Between now and spring I might put the battery tender on it twice. Last winter, it lost 0.1 volts over the course of winter, without charging it.

Make sure when it goes in storage, with the cells full, and fully charged.

This is what I choose to do also. It works very well.

I bring my RV and garden tractor batteries in over the winter into the house.

I have two battery tenders that I leave on all winter. We are in Florida for 4 months so we just leave them on a tile floor plugged in.

Really extends the life of the batteries.

I also do the same pull them off store them in the garage, then put them on a charger in the spring. it too cold here to leave them on the trailer,

And yes I am very Happy with the New Truck pulling the trailer Happy Halloween!!!

There are those that claim that leaving batteries on trickle charge can shorten the life of a battery.

X2. Works great, price is right. I use one for my truck when I'm gone for the winter. I don't worry about my camper, the solar panel does its job summer and winter.
