Black water tank cleanout nozzle sealant

Hi, does anyone know what material Jayco used to seal the black water tank nozzle. It appeared to remain soft and ply able (similar to the duct seal compound used around AC lines coming into a house or plumbers putty). It's it plumbers putty? Or what is the best way to deal the nozzle bracket? The silicone i used didn't work. It developed a slow but steady drip. Which is absolutely unpleasant! I have since purchased a marine grade 100% silicone to use. But can't figure out what Jayco used originally that stayed sealed for years.

That's not a repair I would look forward to, sure seems to resemble the sticky seal for keeping water out of the TT. A Dicor tube of lap sealant or butyl tape.

I use geocel Proflex on the nozzle since it'll practically set up under water. Don't know what Jayco uses but I use what I know works opposed to what they use.

I think Jayco must have originally sealed it with Eternabond or some similar sealant tape. It was very tacky even after all these years and took some acetone to clean it off the tank. The white silicone bathroom sealant that I used during my first fix never set and was still liquidy under the nozzle mounting plate when I removed it. So this time I cleaned everything up really well with acetone, let everything dry well, and then reinstalled the nozzle mount with DAP clear 100% RTV silicone auto/marine sealant. Hopefully this time it sets solid. But just to make checking it easier, I installed an access panel directly below the nozzle and valve so that I could reinstall the big corporate plastic sheet that covers the entire belly of the trailer. I also marked where the grey water valve is so that I can cut an access if I ever have to replace that valve again. Unscrewing that entire corrugated plastic is a hassle to say the least.

I would take Big John's advice. He's seen / corrected many issues and problems. Anything I've tried that he's recommended has worked perfectly for me.

Nice job! I am considering a similar mod after I pull the cover to assess the tanks and floor support or lack of support. I agree with the GeoCel Proflex.
