brown fresh water in toilet
We have a 2019, 21 foot Rocky Mountain edition and we're on our first big trip. We're only in this campground for a couple of nights and I may have put too much water in the black tank before using it but I see the incoming water into the toilet is brown. I checked the black tank monitor and it says it is 2/3 full. All other faucets have clear, clean water. I emptied the black tank and that solved the problem, the toilet water once again fills clear. There must be some connection but I have no idea- do you?

The "incoming water into the toilet" is from the fresh water side of the system- same as all the faucets. There isnt "some connection but I have no idea" or anything different/additional just because its the toilet. The filling of the black tank and its contents wont effect the toilet bowl, unless the black tank is so full and backing up into the bowl- you would know if this is happening.
I dont think "put too much water in the black tank before using it" has anything to do with it.
I would say the fresh water supply was the source of the brown- had debris and its now cleared.
The brown water is probably more noticeable in the toilet bowl, than the faucets. If it happens again I would run water from a faucet into a bucket or whatever then pour it into the toilet bowl to see if its the same colour.
An inline water filter (camco or whatever) that simply connects to your hose would filter out any debris.

More info
I have a new inline water filter and the incoming stream of water which might be no more than a half inch in depth, was noticeably brown and the small amount of water in the bowl, maybe 2 inches in depth was brown as well. Filling a clear 16 ounce glass from the bathroom faucet and looking from top to bottom, the water was clear. Somehow, emptying the 2/3 full black tank solved the problem but of course I'll keep my eye on this if it happens again.

More likely your new filter was still throwing some carbon which will give you darker water. Once the filter flushes it clears up.
I’m confused by what you are saying about the black tank. There is no connection with the fresh water system.

Inline filters should be flushed through with water before hooking up to the TT. I won't get into how I know this little factoid...

Maybe something dried up in your inline to the toilet and it cleared itself after using

I agree with the carbon theory and especially with JFlights "Factoid" - I will withhold how I know this as well...

Sure seems like some "secrets" being withheld that need to be exposed on a thread?

Always pure the water from the supply, the filter, and your hose before hooking up to “city water” on the trailer. I hope you also rinse the new water through the lines in the trailer.
