delivery or contruction delay

We are not done buying half built trailer

We ordered our Jayflight 29RKS may 29 .... the unofficial offline date is mid- September .... so maybe 4 months, maybe 5 months maybe ???

That tell me they are busy like hell. maybe they will try to build them in 4 hrs instead of the 7 hrs as stated in their super video ?? Will it be delivered with a wall missing or worse the floor not secure to the frame... man you never know with the Amish quality LOL

Im afraid that we will discover all the trouble in our Snowbird trip toward Orlando this coming winter....scary tought

Your starting with negative thoughts therefore you'll probably keep em. And any little thing you might find will be made a mountain out of a mole hill because of it
Good luck with it

In March I had inquired about a particular TT using the Jayco website. A day or two later I was contacted by my local dealer to talking about the model and options I wanted. We ended our discussion with him telling me they would be getting one of those models in sometime around mid-April and I would be called as soon as it came in. End of April rolls around and I call the dealer to inquire. I'm then told it would be sometime in mid-May. I call again in mid-May and told beginning of June "maybe".

That "maybe" got me looking on line to find a dealer in the area that had one in stock. My wife was particular about what she wanted and the closest one I could find was in south-central PA, 300 miles away. We ended up buying that unit and it's now mid-June and no call from the original dealer.

I guess Jayco is super busy and business is good. I hadn't put money down or signed any documents so no hard feelings on my part but I imagine these types of delays for some that has committed dollars and looking forward to camping in their new trailer sometime this season could get very disappointed with a long delay.

I think your concerns are justified.

One thing to do is to make a thorough inspection before accepting the trailer. Inspect in the AM when you have a full day to do it. Try out all the equipment. Crawl on top of, underneath and into all parts of your potential new trailer. Carry a square bit screwdriver and a flashlight - you may need to get into a covered up area. Document everything. Try to get all problems found fixed before you hand over any money. Dealer shops work a lot faster when money is on the line. At a minimum, get all problems found documented in writing.

All really is within your control - if you are not satisfied by your new trailer, don't hand over any money.

Try to take a one or two night trip for further testing prior to any major trips.
And enjoy your new trailer!

Some concerns have been generated by the delays. I think RVHikers advice is one of the only ways to put those concerns behind you and not allow the delays and concerns generated by them to put a damper on enjoying your new RV.

Don't be shy (I am but my wife is not). Run every system, flip every switch, open and close every door, plug a outlet tester into every outlet, bring a laser thermometer with you to check frig and A/C temperatures, turn on the television, put a dvd into the dvd player, heat up a glass of water in the microwave, run hot water, etc., etc., etc... and then pay and sign off on the deal. At least you leave with the peace of mind that when you left the dealer's lot everything was in working order (no guarantee of future performance ).

Yes, I did all of these things when I picked up my new TT with the added motivation (over and above my wife giving me the eye) that I'd have to drive 600 miles round trip to get anything I couldn't fix myself fixed by the dealer.

Negative me ? Just a little lol..... no I won't make a mountain of anything. I know what I am buying and my level of expectation are really low so ...its not my first trailer and I know that quality and RV are hard to put in the same sentence. I am not living in a kumbaya world so I'm realistic and sarcastic at times lol

Well, were in our 4th season of living in our cheap little Jayco 6 months each season.. Worse thing that has happened a brad or a screw took care of...no real issues. I did put a new faucet in the kitchen, just we wanted it...same with swapping out the thermostat to a digital..just cause. Will put new tires this winter since were heading our East next year...Grandkids graduating HS, College and getting married...not looking forward to all the traffic that's for sure...but.... will be our last trip out that way I hope

Jayco is making lots more RV's but still the vast majority are great products will few issues.

I would bet you never got a call from the dealer because they sold it before it ever arrived..Jayco doesn't miss delivery dates by months... they keep ordering them and they keep getting sold before they show up …

Happy Camping !

All date given by my dealer or Jayco were just approximation... my dealer wrote for delivery end of July assuming I guess that they were running the 29rks line .... when I called Jayco customer service with my order number they said : Evidently they have revised the production schedule, because that order is now in the run that will be scheduled for late July or early August. And it’s still not set in stone....then today
Hi, Richard. They’re now telling me that your Jay Flight will be offline in mid-September. I’m sorry. I wish I had better news.

So my dealer isnt lying and he could not sold my trailer since its not event built :-) So July went to august , august to September, and Im betting that the trailer will be in my driveway by the end or mid october... will see.... but I wont loose sleep over this ... its still fun to wait for a big toy
