Okay, sorry for not posting for a few days. Part of that was because I wasnt able to go see the trailer again until yesterday (7 12hr shifts). So I did go yesterday, pulled all floor registers and found 5/8" osb. Like I mentioned, the soft area was confined to the kitchen area. I thoroughly inspected all the rest of the trailer top to bottom again as well. With that being said, I was able to beat the owner up on the price slightly more and we made a deal. I got the trailer, all accessories, and the weight distribution hitch for $7,000. Which was nearly half off what he was asking.

Sounds like a great deal. Enjoy the trailer. A new one similar is likely around 40 grand. ☺

Thanks for getting back to us. That sounds like an excellent deal. Those older Eagles are well made. Hopefully you'll be able to fix the soft spot fairly easily. Keep us posted on the repair.

But I dont want to buy anything with styrofoam/luan. Thanks for any help or info.
Drewk, my 2008 Jayco 199 FeatherLite had particular board under the linoleum. The linoleum acted as a insulation and wouldn't let the particle board dry out. I removed all the linoleum, replaced all the particle board with marine grade plywood, and painted it to make sure it would seal out moisture. I then covered it all with some snap together flooring I bought at Ollies--that was 3 years ago, Im not having any issues now.
The moisture will extend far beyond the soft area !!!

I am aware that a floor repair is a rather large undertaking, I have significant experience with construction, automotive, electrical, and fabrication work. With that being said, I'm more comfortable replacing subfloor than I would be repairing a delaminated section of fiberglass. It seemed even campers in the $12k price range had delamination. Bopper, I considered pulling up the vinyl but I'm going to enjoy the camper as is for the remainder of the summer, then tear into it during the fall. It's all cleaned, dewinterized, and checked over to head down to Virginia for the week. At least I think its ready...
