I just bought a Jayco flight (Baja addition) 2019

I need to know if I need to have the propane turned on to heat the trailer? I have a temp control that has different settings (Ac and Furnace) and I hear the fan blowing when I turn it on to furnace (electric on). The manual doesn't tell me.

Yes, you need to have the propane on. You may have air in the line so light your stove to get the air out.

On some systems (like mine) if the A/C fan runs when you set the wall thermostat to run the 'Furnace'...., the "Fan" setting on the wall thermostat should be set at "Auto", not 'high or low'.

Be sure to turn on the propane tank(s) very slowly, so the safety valve doesn't close. Since this sounds like it's the first time running,

it will probably take a few times before it fires up. The blower will run for several seconds first. If the propane hasn't reached the furnace yet, it'll shut off. Turn the thermostat off, then back on to start the next cycle. You'll hear the burner when it finally lights.

X2, also the 1st time using it, it will stink for an hour or so as it burns off the manufacturering oils. FYI, the oven will stink too.

To speed up the process of LP forcing air out of the lines try lighting stove burners before cycling the furnace. You will need to do this every time you change tanks or let the RV sit for a few weeks.

If the burners don't hiss or light then go back, turn off tank(s), then turn the tank on slowly. There is a little safety valve to prevent major leaks/fires if you have a broken line, etc. that shuts down the tank if it is opened to quickly.

Also make sure the thermostat is turned on! Mine has a lever on the top right corner. I got real cold on our first trip out, because I did not know about the on/off switch.
