Ladder Reinforcement/Replacement

Hello everyone! First timer here, I have a new 2022 Jayco Eagle HT TT 312BHOK. On the back of the trailer there is a ladder to get on the roof, but it has stickers on it that say it has a weight limit of 250lbs. I'm wondering if there is a way to reinforce this or replace it with a ladder that can support a higher limit to something like 350lbs. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

The one on my older rig says: 300 lbs. I often use a step ladder to get farther up before actually climbing all the way. I am not over 250 but it still feels flimsy.

I'm getting a bit older and find it difficult to climb the attached ladder as it is straight up and down. Especially if you are carrying something with you in your hands. I carry an expandable ladder that I can lean against the trailer on a normal angle and find it safer and easier to use.

Only thing we used Trailor ladder for was are Flag pole with bungie cords. At home just used extension ladder, to install Solar panel!

It's not just the ladder, but also the RV wall and interior blocking to hold the ladder. Don't forget the roof has a "per sq/ft" weight limit too.

Here is what I did and it made it much more solid! I weigh 230.
Used old bicycle inner tube squares (cut) between the u-clamp and ladder brackets.
Used 1" square aluminum bars and used rubber chair leg feet at the bottom and top. Bottom is pressing against the bumper to support the weight.

Good idea!

I have to regularly tighten up the screws that hold my ladder as they tend to loosen with all the movement during use and just traveling.

Great mod. Looks simple, effective, and blends in with the ladder.
