Question Maintenance question

Total newbie... bought 2018 JayFeather 6 months ago. Would like to know:
1. Air conditioner maintenance... filters? How often?
2. Rubber roof... how often do you do new roof sealer?

I clean my AC filters monthly and I do a roof inspection every 3 months. I usually reseal the aging Dicor at the beginning of each season...

Your roof A/C gasket needs to be inspected before you start your camping season and at the end of the season. The 4 bolts holding it down on the roof need to be adjusted yearly because they work them selves loose. Remember to use a light touch when tightening them down.

Do not over tighten those ac bolts. They just need s little tension on them. That it. Tighten them up tight, and you'll be replacing the foam seal.

As for cleaning the filter. It partially depends on your environment. I tend to clean mine about every 6 to 7 days of usage.

As for roof sealing. Twice a year, I wash the roof, and inspect the caulking. That's it.

When I said newbie.... total trailer virgin. So are the filters inside AND outside. I'm a senior, but very self sufficient. The dealership has been fairly worthless. If I go up top and take off the lid on the air conditioner will the filters be obvious? And inside too?

I've researched roof sealer online... have suggestions?

Thanks so much.... I'm REALLY into maintenance :-)))))))

THANKS!!!! I'm living in it :-) Guess I need to get up there and check it. I bought it from a dealer, but they weren't the best at answering questions. My two friends with camping trailers haven't touched their roofs in years :-O Decided I needed more information...

wow... thanks so much!!!! This is my first travel trailer and I'm now living in it. TOTAL newie. Have two friends with 'camping' trailers and they haven't touched the roofs in years and haven't done AC anything. I think that strange :-O I'm totally into maintenance. Good tip on bolts... I've heard that twice. I'll keep a light hand.
