I found a list of a basic tool kit to keep with us, looks like I'll need a torque wrench

Probably a silly question, but if we decide to take off in the tow vehicle and sight see, what's to stop someone from just hooping up and taking off with the camper? Do they make anti theft devices?

I have found my dirty laundry is a deterrent.

Make sure you have a lug wrench that will work on both your truck and trailer lug nuts. Also an inexpensive inflater (Slime has one that runs off your truck's electrical system and sells for around $20) for inflating your tires, and trust me there will come a time you will need it. Always check your spare tires on both your new TT and TV for inflation so they are ready if you need them. If you decide you want to dry camp aka boondocking, you will want to buy a generator minimum 2000 watts. Get a good one that runs quietly...your fellow campers will love you for it. Welcome to Jayco, I am sure you will enjoy yourselves. Via con dios.

I like the attached style of theft deterrent...it protects both your hitch and trailer, takes one key, and it simply substitutes for existing equipment you need everyday....

Got kids to fill those bunks? Make sure you've got the stuff they'll need to make the trip enjoyable for them - video games, water guns, ankle shackles, anchors. The usual stuff.

Happy Camping

We just bought a new trailer ourselves. Take the time to scroll through the previous posts and read what interest you. The people on this site are nice and friendly. Any questions or problems you have they will certainly help you. My trailer will be delivered to my site next week. Keep in touch and let us know how you fare off. Best of luck and happy camping.
