Opinions, please?

'99, 24BH. Wondering what might have been bolted here. Only thing I can come up with was a spare tire mount, but this one had the under-tongue mount for the spare.

I could use an opinion or three.

Possibly the mounting point for an old style friction sway control

Take a look at the bracket on the lower left of this picture.

Agreed! That's exactly what that was for. I had the same exact bolt pattern of one on one of my snowmobile trailers. The thought of it being bolted on didnt make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, so I welded it on.

Agree as well, most likely a sway control system.

Fair enough, gents. I didn't even consider a sway control system.
And I agree with Lake Huron. The wall thickness of that frame isn't exactly robust for those kinds of forces. Through-bolts, maybe, but those are tapped holes.
