Plugged into house

Just got a new camper (first timer!) Jayco Jayflight SLX 154bh and we are storing it at our house. I have a question - if we have it plugged into the house should we still disconnect the battery to prevent it from dying while we are storing it or will having it plugged into house keep it charged?

Itll help keep it charged. I leave ours hooked up to the home with the battery left in it.

I kept my Jayco plugged in for 7 years at home and when I sold it had the original battery still with it. These smart charger converters do an excellent job of maintaining a battery.

Being able to store your trailer at your is a plus!
Ours has been plugged in since we bought it in Sept.

The first few minutes of this video explains the role of your battery in your trailer's electrical system. It will answer your question.

Keep in mind you have to leave the battery disconnect on to have shore power charge the battery..

That salesman in the video is condescending and did not listen to the buyers. Useful information but attitude not necessary.

Make sure you check water levels in the battery once in awhile! If you need to add water. Use DISTILLED WATER!

Plugged into house

Leave mine plugged and charging year round. Have gel battery, no water needed.

plugged in

I keep my battery switch in the off position. I plug it in for three days once a month when stored. Has worked for me for over 20 years. Two 6 volt batteries connected in series. Keep an eye on the fluid level, it MUST cover the plates.

Plugged ino house

You must keep your battery connected or it will destroy your power converter. See video at Haylett RV Coldwater Michigan

A whole lot different than the orientation I received, too. He served those buyers very well. I have posted the video here a few times now, as it answers some questions very well.

You are correct. My salesman told me to call and ask him for help on things. Well now I get passed off to the service department and they say Google it you will find the help there. My orientation was 2 1/2 months ago. Do I remember everything he said or did not say? No some stuff was not explained very well and my movie camera broke down also. That is why I am so glad I found this forum and others to get answers before I ask them. I will always be very appreciative if all feed back I get from all who answer me and others to find solutions.
