Roof Strength

I have a 2013 314BDS and I love it! I am a pretty big guy and I want to make sure that the roof is strong enough to have me walking around on it. I have a ladder in the back that holds 350lbs. I'm about 280lbs, so I want to make sure that I don't fall through the roof!! Any ideas on the max weight?

When I get on the roof to wash it I crawl on my hands and knees just to distribute the weight a little more evenly.

Same here, 6-4" no walking up there for me! I crawl and play it safe, don't want a nosebleed

some one posted a video some time back about Jayco roofs. It was amazing how much weight it could take! If I come across it, I will post a link.

I weigh 240 and the roof on my 25Z seems fine when I walk on it for cleaning or checking equipment. The camber stiffens it a lot.

A piece of thin plywood to spread your weight might also help.

If you have a truss roof this Jayco video will answer your question.

I waited for the 2013 model to come out so I could get this roof.

I have a 2013 Jayflight 32bhds and I have actually had my dealer check my roof cause it feels weak to me but they said it was normal. I weigh 175 lbs and washed the roof today and next time I take it back to the dealer I will have them recheck it cause it does not feel very strong to me. Not sure if mine is a magnum roof but it is supposed to be 3/8 decking full walk on roof.
