Sewer elbow does not fit campsite threads

I have a orange rhino brand elbow on my sewer hose it’s supposed to fit 4 size sewer pipe. But didn’t fit the last two campground.

Some ppl with grey elbow don’t have any trouble.

Is there a better elbow to be using?

We use this most of the time. https://www.etrailer.com/RV-Sewer/Camco/CAM39144.html and this rubber connection to the ground pipe, https://www.campingworld.com/3-in-1-...wer-connection. As a backup, we carry a standard soft rubber donut, but haven't used it much. The above one fits tighter.

I have found some of the campground sewer pipes are warped and just a bit out of round and nothing will thread in properly. In those cases I just insert the elbow as far as it will go and put a rock or a board on top of it to hold it down.

There are so many different types in CG's. I carry several adapters and a rubber ring. If it won't fit anywhere, I just make the best seal and weigh it down with a board.

I've done what edatlanta wrote for years without incident.

A few places we stayed required the sewer pipe to be sealed. I always carry a sewer donut just in case the pipe is warped. 98% of the time the treads will work but twice we had to use the donut. Here is an inexpensive one, I also noted that Lippert makes one that has straight sides and it might work better. https://www.amazon.com/Camco-Connect...gateway&sr=8-2

LOL......I saw your post, and without even looking at where you were from, said to myself "such places must be in California.....".

I just use a 90 degree elbow, with the universal fit rubber seal on the dump pipe side. It seems to fit anything. Clear tube slides into the dump pipe far enough to prevent splash out, and tapered rubber seal ensures a good fit.

I don't have a donut so I guess I can't go to CA. Oh darn!

I tried a donut. And it fits better with the donut. The smooth part of the rhino elbow is too short
