Tire lug nuts

How does Jayco expect you to change a tire with no lug nut wrench. I did not get one on my new 212 QBW. Did anyone get one?

Never had one come with any trailer that I ever bought. I just carried the 4 way "T" one.

Like Grumpy I carry a 4-way wrench plus a long (28” or so) breaker bar.

I've have owned three trailers and have never had a lug wrench included. We carry a breaker bar, torque wrench and now a half inch impact. Not very much fun trying to change a tire on the side of the road.

When we bought our trailer new from a Jayco dealer, a tire lug nut wrench did not come with the purchase. When I asked the dealer about the missing wrench, he said to go buy one. Go figure that logic

As above I have an 4 way and a breaker bar with a dedicated deep socket. Never heard of a trailer MFG spending the $2 to include one.

"lug nut wrench" is not included in RV trailer package (unlike a car). Its up to you to carry whatever lug removal tool(s) you desire.

An appropriate sized socket, extension, and ratchet or breaker bar; or the 4 way as mentioned by others.

Plan ahead. Evaluate the tools needed and have then on-board.

I recommend picking up a 2-ft breaker bar from Amazon and of course make sure you have a torque wrench.

Some models have a different size on the spare as compared to the hub.

I bet you did not get a jack either with your camper. I just went to Harbor Freight and bought a 3 ton one to carry in the camper. Same here on the lug wrench, 4 way one.

And keep in mind if you have aluminum wheels with acorn type lug nuts they will likely bottom out on the stud with the much thinner steel wheel spare before they are fully tight. This will cause possible problems down the road with the potential for the studs to shear. I carry a set of open lug nuts in case I need to use my steel spare.

With some cars coming with no spare tires, I had to chuckle at this one. Agree, it should be included. I had an impact, deep socket, torque wrench and a few extra lug nuts. When I had a blowout, I could not get the jack to retract low enough, even with adjusting leveling blocks. I had to make a custom piece to sit on top of the jack. Strongly suggest you try changing a tire after you purchase a jack.

They thoughtfully included a sticker for roadside assistance in my TT.

Several trailers... none included a lug wrench or jack.
The weather is hot and I'm getting a little older.
Just had shoulder surgery, so the 4-way is a little less compatible than it was.
Since I have a couple of DeWalt cordless tools, I added a DeWalt impact wrench.
They come in different torque ratings and the tool only cost me around $100 for the amount of force I needed.
Life is even better now.

Ford puts a cheap compressor and a can of Fix-A-Flat in the trunk. There's ya spare!

I always carry a battery powered Impact wrench and a torque wrench, plus a 6 ton bottle jack and a few other tools. The impact wrench I can use on my tow vehicle as well and has enough power to remove the tightest of nuts. I have never had to use it on my vehicles, but have used it to help others with tire trouble. Well worth the cost!

Don't know what Jayco would think would be a good lug nut wrench, but based on other things I doubt if it would be something I'd want.

Starting in '84 when I began spending time off-road in Utah, I carry a couple lug wrenches, a big breaker bar, a big crow bar, a hydraulic bottle jack and two regular car jacks plus enough wood and square metal tubing to form cribbing. The peace of mind is worth the cost, weight and space.

Bottom line: an owner can do a lot of things for his rig better than Jayco ever could.

At least you got a spare tire. If it was a class c, they are not provided.
I have never had a lug wrench or jack furnished with a new trailer and that’s with several non Jayco brands.

We carry a bottle jack, two breaker bars, a torque wrench and sockets to fit the lugs and the nuts/bolts on our Husky Straight line TS WD hitch. I did loosen all my lug nuts and then retorque to the proper value and I regularly check them.
