Tv hanging

I wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this. When I bought the trailer used the TV was already hung. I don't know if the trailer comes like that or if he put it in himself afterwards.

Anyhow it's too high for me. I'm always looking up. It's bothering my eyes. I promise I'm getting to my question lol. I was wondering if there is some kind of special support inside the wall for the TV from factory? Does it have to stay in that spot? Or can I just bring it down 6inches and hit the same beams?

There is a plywood backer board in the wall. You can find it with a stud finder.

The backer board in the wall was too high for the mount on my TV. I screwed a piece of plywood to the wall through the existing board to make my own backer board. That is what I attached the TV mount to. I would think doing similar would work for you if your board does not extend down far enough for you.

Here is my post on the subject when I did it.

I mounted a piece of plywood across the wall where the TV is mounted to make sure it spanned across the studs in both corners. Screwed the bracket to it with T nuts from the rear of the plywood.

There are also plenty of drop down TV brackets. It would be quick to swap out since you already know where everything is.

Thanks guys.. Geeze the drop down bracket is 170$!? I like it bc it can drop 11 inches. But I dunno that's as much as the TV cost smh. My ac thermostat is under the tv so I would only lower 6 inches max without covering it.. I don't know if that's enough.. the top of tv is basically up to the ceiling right now. Anyone have pics of how they did plywood? I would just screw the top of plywood where bracket is screwed in now and just extend plywood down 6 or 7 inches to screw mount on lower?

I just used a piece of plywood, in your case, the size you need to accomplish the project and mounted the TV bracket from the back of the plywood with T nuts and machine screws like this.

Hey guys. Update. I ordered the drop down mo Ryde tv mount. It was damaged on arrival and was bent really bad. I don't know how bc the thing is super solid. Really heavy. Heavier than the tv. So I returned it and figured out my own solution. I mounted it to where the top bunk connects to the wall (horizontal stud). I used a peice of plywood between frame and stud so all holes of mount can be screwed in. 3 inch screws to reach through wall and into the actual frame of the bunk for extra peace of mind. Now I don't have to look up anymore! No more neck and eye pain lol

I had the same problem with our trailer, the TV was mounted above the rear window and too high for comfortable viewing. Because of the window, couldn't lower the mount. The solution was to buy an articulating arm mount that can also be raised & lowered. I also made up an offset plate for the VESA mount to drop it even further. Now when we want to watch TV we can swing it out from the wall and lower it pretty much in front of the window. When done, just lift it back up & against the wall. Keeps it out of the way and secure for travel.
