Certainly a valid concern. My pinnacle is loaded with electronics. I installed a similar unit as the one I am posting but it has hard wire lugs for permanent installation, around $60. I did not want a battery disconnect spiking any electronics. The hardwired ones are specd for NY city fire trucks. There are other brands, and you may find one cheaper elsewhere. I think repair shops like them so they don't have to reprogram things after doing a battery disconnect.
Not sure if disconnecting the battery would be as safe.
Anyone else have more info??
