Wheel fender skirt repair
Hi All,
Well I am new to travel trailers but have been doing a lot of research. It seems to be a common problem of the wheel fender skirts to have the screw holes break out, which in some cases this has caused people to lose the skirt all together. Well mine were broken and the previous owner used tin foil and wedged it in the hole opening and then screwed the screw threw that into the trailer. I wanted to show people what I have done to remedy that even though there are probably other solutions out there that may be better.
I took metal pipe strap cut it into short strips and formed it to the skirt. Epoxied it with JB Weld and put it back up. On the non-slide side I had a piece of roof drip edge that I flattened and attached it to the frame and the metal strap that comes down from the side of the trailer and attaches to the skirt. This added a lot of stability to the bottom of the skirt. Not sure if any of this makes sense but hopefully the pics will help.
