On most trailers with steel tube axles it is better to place jacks and jack stands on frame or toward outside edge of axle to avoid bending the (cambered) axle.

Replacing tires at 7 years RV trailer service is a good plan. The Interply Shear forces that are working to create a tire failure are some 24% higher in trailer use than when a tire in used on a vehicle or truck.
I can't post a direct link but if you Google on "RV Tire Interply Shear" that should take you to a post that explains the Science behind tire failures in RV trailer service.

I was thinking this was proper procedure too - a previous post in this thread mentioned placing the stand or jacks on the axle which I always thought was a no-no.
