x-chock, do they help trailer bounce?

I have a 2015 28bhbe. Will these help much with trailer bounce and stability? Thanks

I used them on my 2016 28BHBE - They helped somewhat but in my opinion not enough. I still used them because everyone else in my family swore they made a huge difference.

I use the camco plastic version, I would say they help. There not a miracle solution, but a single piece of the solution.

4 hours or so after parking or the next morning, I'll tighten then up, and the stabilizers. I also put the stabilizers on a wood pad, to spread the weight out.

I been very satisfied with them. Several key points. I use a Camco Heavy Duty Jack Support (44421) to prevent the tongue jack from being over extended. After leveling the TT, I then install the X-chocks. I then use several Camco Leveling Blocks (44510) under the stabilizers, again to prevent them from being over extended. Then the slide goes out. As you can see the x-chocks are part of a plan, to which I have found them to be a key part. Not pushing Camco. There many similar options beside the Camco products that are just as good, maybe better.

I 5hink they help reduce front to back rocking but not bouncing. The tires don't move but they still have up and down flex. I used to leave an rv in an all year rv park. Best stability ever because I put the trailer up on cement blocks under the frame.

Get another set of stabilizer jacks for center of trailer.

Using 4 stabilizers doesn't compare to 6... big difference.

I have a 2017 28BHBE. I use the x-chocks and do notice a difference. The difference is like PC55 stated, "...help reduce front to back rocking but not bouncing"

I have purchased additional stabilizers to support the frame near the tires to reduce the bounce.

They primarily are for horizontal movement. Your stabilizers help with vertical movement. Blocking them to minimize their extension helps. But for extended stays go with scissor jacks. Again, keep their reach as short as possible.

I bought a pair of BAL X-Chocks about a year ago after reading some of the reviews. When installed they do eliminate all fore and aft movement. The downside is they take time to install correctly. My one slide extends out over the left side tires, so the chock needs to be installed before extending the slide. They also need to be installed after the trailer is leveled according to the instructions, and removed before the support jacks are retracted.

I use my power drill with the 3/4 inch socket to aid in installing and removing the chocks. The supplied wrench is used to do the final tightening.

I also bought a roll up mat that is a knee saver when working on the tires, especially when parked in gravel. Worth the money!

JT's Strong Arm is what you want.
I tried everything as my wife is a light sleeper.
Its more expensive, and took a couple hours to install, but it works.

When my wife and I owned our travel trailer, we called them Sex Chocks.

Just sayin'. ;-)

aluminum screw stabilizers are cheap and effective. The bounce from grandkids disturbs the wife more than me. A pack of 4 is $30 - $40 and will take almost all bounce out. With the travel trailer i put one in proximity of the door then across from it and then a set behind the axel. Night time ritual to walk around and snug them up.

We've used the BAL X-chocks for a few years on our fifth wheel and now our TT. They do make a difference. With ours, I put them "upside-down" so that the nut is easier to access. If not, I'm fighting the fender flare/skirt for room while installing or removing.

X chocks

I use the x chocks for front to back stability. I reccomend you get the JT Strong Arm stabilizer for bounce .
I have that combination and they really helps . The DW noticed a big difference in the stability also.

I am not a fan. Don't know if my 23MRB is too small to make a difference but we stopped using them years ago. Of course, in our 70's we may not move fast enough to make a difference.
