Lift system weight limit

I am planning on installing solar panels on my 2012 Baja 14F. They weigh a total of about 50 lbs. Will this overload the lift system cables?

Odds are you are ok. They have an optional roof AC I believe plus roof racks for bikes and stuff. I put a bike rack and 4 bikes on my much older popup and pulled them 1,000s of miles with no problems.

Thanks for the input. I found a Jayco manual and it said the loading on the roof was 150 lbs. I have read somewhere before that you should unload the roof rack prior to lifting the top. Did you unload you bikes before lifting the roof?

I did raise up my bikes a couple of times but mostly we had them unloaded to ride when we stopped.

150 seems low as mine was already equipped with a roof air already was installed and I would guess it weight in at 75 pounds plus a heavy cable. Never had a problem but my Jayco was relatively new at 12 years at the time. That was about 10 years ago. They may make them flimsier now, (not LOL).
