Furnace troubles

This connector really puts the "hanging on by a thread" truth in place. Was having issues with the flame sensor. Could hear the flame going but then the furnace would try to relight itself and then lock itself out.

fixed that and it was good to go once again.

Hopkins Flex Mount Brake Controller

Installed this controller in my Acadia. So far I am pleased with it's minimalist look and performance.

I also made a install video for it: https://youtu.be/0G1CKsmdXRI

New Mattresses!

For anyone who owns a pop up trailer, finding a mattress thin enough and comfortable is a challenge. I found this 4.5" memory foam mattress and so far I like it. I definitely wouldnt recommend long term but for short camping trips is more than adequate. It comes in 3 foldable sections from which two fits nicely on the queen side of the camper and the king side needed 2.5 sections. I simply removed the cover and cut the foam, slide the cover back on and presto! custom fit mattress for a fraction of the cost.

For comparison, i got a quote for a 4" egg crate mattress and for the large two beds, it would have been $819+tax. I bought two of the below off amazon and it was less than half! I think I did well.

First Test Trip!

Had installed new chains. Also first test with the BlueOx SwayPro Hitch. towed great.

It may have only been to a family member's acreage but was a perfect test run for our first time out.

The Shower Fix

My DIY Shower Stall

When I first bought this trailer I didnt care for the shower and toilet but now with COVID, I have realized many campgrounds are having their toilets open but the shower houses closed. (riddle me why on that).

My trailer did not come with the wood walls, door, and shower curtain from the previous owner so I needed to get crafty. I went to Lowe's and picked up two shower curtain liners (solid color so no extra curtain required) along with some I-beam curtain rod.

Starting point. wood lid, shower base and no walls or curtain.

Picked up the I beam from Lowe's and utilized a 5" caster to use as bend form. worked perfect.

I required two beams. Here is the first section mounted to the roof.

I installed smaller grommets on the shower liner to keep the space at the top as minimal as possible and to utilize the small eyelets that came with the I-beam.

Somethign I didn't take a picture of was the trimming of the shower liner. It comes 71"x71" but I cut and stitched the bottom edge to fit around the toilet and shower base. I utilized screw in snap fasteners to attach the shower liner to the base.

The finished product turned out great. I now can shower when I want and not have water everywhere as well, I now have a privacy liner for using the toilet. The two curtain lengths are stitched together at the back and overlap in the front to prevent water from pouring out

Grey Hauler

Kijiji Score!
picked up this un-used grey water tote for holding/storing water.

Our sink in the trailer drains straight out the side and there was no valve on it. I have rigged up some piping and fittings to allow it to dump directly into this tank. Came with the ball loop to allow you to tow it on your vehicle to the dump station instead of carrying by hand when it's full and heavy.

Mateo,
Great job. This really looks like an OEM installation.

I have a request. Could you post a picture or two for the seal around the roof where it contacts the side of the trailer. Mine id missing and I believe your model may use the same as mine.

Thank You

Looking at that? Great job. But I hate to say it, so glad I sold our pop up for the trailer. The shower may be small but at least I have a place to shower. Even though I do love the showers at the KOA when I really want to feel clean. Can't wait to hit the trail for the fourth. Ready now but too much to do this week. Happy trails.

Our first real camping trip! Cypress Hills Provincial Park.

Was a fantastic trip. Wife loved it and is asking for more trips already! Just need to get an outdoor carpet.

Mateo,

Yes, the seal where the top contacts the walls when it is collapsed.
Mine is missing and I need to replace it.
I appreciate your help with this. Keep up the good work and great thread.

Mateo,

Another question.
Is the awning difficult to roll up to store? Can one person do it?
Also where do you store your awning poles and tension rafters?

Thanks

Holy Moly. Sorry about the massive delay. With camping, working and a house move, the keyboard for this site has been neglected.

Here is the seal that is around the wall/roof when collapsed.

I find it relatively easy to roll up myself. I collapse the trailer and then take down the awning as it's too high when the roof is up.

I have two leather pole pouches where the poles and rafters are stored and then they sit in the front compartment.

While packing up the trailer, not sure how but one pulley pin brake free and the lift cable ended up breaking. Luck for me it was the rear left cable. I was able to remove some trim and rear step to access the lifting components and replace the cable.

I'm still waiting for the third thing to break as the second item that broke this round was the trailer tongue jack. When trying to roll the trailer on a flat surface, the tongue jack bolts pulled out. should be an easy fix as the jack still works fine. just need to reinforce the a-frame mounting surface.

Luckily I replaced the flimsy stabilizer jacks with 5K# stabilizer jacks and could lift the trailer with those.

Still have all my toes!

So what model/brand did you use to swap out the lighting. I love this look. Would like to do the same with mine.
