I saw the torque bar being used for this - it was at least 3 feet, if not closer to 4. It was certainly surprising to see that amount required on the install sheet that came with the hitch ball. I went with the 1 1/4" ball shaft so I didn't have to use a spacer that was needed with a 1" shaft. The 1" shaft only required 250ft-lb though.

Hitched up again today and took the first spin out with the Blue Ox. All seems to be working well at this point and was able to get a complete set of CAT scale tickets for the current setup. Also verified that the one hub that had been running a bit hot the last time out seemed to be back in line with the other 3.

Awesome. You’ll be really impressed at how easily the dead bugs wash off after you’ve applied the seal n shine. Plus, you can’t beat the price.

Air bags

UPS delivered our airbags today. I'll try to get them put in on Sunday. We had some porpoising going on on our trip to Michigan, so I hope this helps.

Well - less than an hour to do the TV and I think it turned out pretty darn good. May not get to the TT until it cools down a bit later on or tomorrow morning before it heats up again. I really like the fact that you can put this stuff on everything including the black trim and not have any of the noticeable streaking that more traditional waxes leave. That will certainly help out up front. Excellent recommendation!

Hello to all;

New to Jayco long time Airstream member (still am).

On June 1 I took my old truck, a 2015 3500 Ram Laramie Limited (max tow HO Cummins Aisan and 4.11 rear) 4x4 drw with 50k miles on it. 8' bed with the 3 door aluminum topper to my shop for a transformation from a trailer totter to a fifthwheel hauler.

Off with the topper and bed on went 7500 lbs firestone airbags, a new C&M 8.5 flatbed with a 30000 lbs gooseneck hitch in it, new Geiolanders xd265x80r17 lr E 4050 lbs single 3800 lbs duel on 7 new 8.5x17 badlander wheels rated for 4500 lbs each, and a new Husky 26000 lbs fifthwheel hitch.

All of this as well as the 50k services the truck need. All of the fluids swapped to full synthetic engine front and rear differentials and brake fluid the transmission and transfer case got the simi-synthetic and the cooling system didn't need serviced since it only has 5k after the water pump was replaced on a FCA recall.

Why all of these mods you may ask? Well June 15th we left our house near Alamogordo NM and drove down I 10 to Dad's campers in Gulfport Ms (a great place to buy from, friendly people great prices).

On June 17th picked up our shiny new '18 Seismic 4116. After the long well conducted tour of this massive toyhauler we hitched up, aired up the airbags to 85 psi and off to a great little campground just 10 miles away.

As we pulled out of the dealers parking lot the left airbag popped (sounded like a 30-06). Stoped and saw what happened and went on to the campground and setup the trailer with no problems.
On our way back to Dad's the check engine light came on my scan tool says it's the throttle position sensor. Reset code all is good. Nothing could be done with the airbag.

We spent five wonderful days in Gulfport mostly at the beach. We had fresh shrimp-n-taters, mudbugs-n-corn-n-taters, and catfish-n-taters. Yum yum yummy!! We loved it gained at least 10 lbs.

The truck though hated it it stored and locked the three bad turbo codes.

We limped home with and without the turbo.

Four beautiful days and three nights Wal-Mart camping we made it home.

Now we are living in it while our house is getting new floors installed.

I got the truck back from the dealership today Sierra Blonka motors in Ruidoso NM. They replaced the turbo throttle position sensor and camshaft position sensor, they even updated the computers it's now like a new truck. I will be installing the new airbags tomorrow.

And now we are ready for our next adventure. Looks like Moab Ut rock crawling in the fall.

Yahoo!!

That’s the grill from the Lariat Sport edition, the truck I have. I agree with you on the excess chrome on dark vehicle colors.

Looks great. Nice job. I agree, too much chrome to begin with.

Cheers.

On the way back to my home base yesterday my truck passed 200,000 miles. It never even slowed down when reaching this new milestone.

Ok, they're on, and they hold air. 2 hour job took me about 8, but that's about normal for me. I double check everything three times, and stop to google any questions I might have in the middle of the job. Ready to take a trip to Indiana today.

Gave it an oil and filter change, and a good undercarriage look over (since I was already on the creeper). Could have had the dealer change it when the driveshafts were getting greased, but they don't use QS oil. The Tundra really likes it the best.
