As my connection are inside the wall, i wrapped a little electrical tape around them to ensure the will not come apart when traveling. I have no problems with my IR. Check out my thread on my installation. They came out awesome, best mod I've done on 2 trailers yet. They can be used with the awning open and closed.

The black cover slid off the wires when unplugging, but I just slid it back on.
My power cord just reaches, so I put a cable tie on the awning arm just to take any weight off the connection.
The RF receiver is a little sensitive, but hey for $28 bucks I am satisfied.

Did you order from e-bay?? I thought about doing that and didn't want to wait. So, I paid a little extra to get it quicker from amazon. We were going to go camping this week-end, but the plans got changed!

For those of you that mounted these on your awning, do you put anything over the exposed plug when you roll up your awning? I was debating on using some kind of rubber plug or even a small watermelon to put over the plug when in storage or transit.

I have been debating mounting them against the TT and hardwiring them into the control panel but I really dont want to drill a hole into the TT, don't know how these light will be from a longevity standpoint and don't know how well they will hold up going down the interstate.

Ranger....

Look at post #33. drfife posted a close-up pic of his lights and he says he tucks the plug end in the awning tube.

X2. When I start rolling up the awning I have DW tuck in the tail so it is wrapped under the awning.
