Camper Envy?

Just for fun...

Does anyone else ride around the campground looking at the units thinking, “oooooo that’s what we should trade up to?”

Does it ever go away?

I am normally a fairly impulsive buyer however, my current TT fits our needs so well and has been so flawless I'm not even tempted to trade. I can even walk through an RV show (prior to the freaking shutdown) and not be tempted. I hope it lasts...

Yes..... Usually it’s the Diesel A’s that get me. But, I do feel very fortunate to have what I do. I’m quite happy with our setup.

Yup, but I just traded up this year so that itch has been scratched for a while. We will keep this unit at least until the kids stop coming with us. Then it'll be time for a couples trailer...maybe a 5th wheel.

Usually no. I do like to walk around and look at peoples setups. Mostly look at all the stuff they bring, and say under my breath "really, where do you put it all?".

However, we have been talking about our next rig for a while, and the DW is now thinking a small 5ver, that can tow a small trailer. The SP CG we were at this weekend, I think was 50% 5vers.

Constantly...but mostly when we go to shows or look at dealer lots. Fortunately, our current rig fits us very well and we have done a lot of work to make it ours, so we usually talk ourselves off the ledge. Still get a little excited when I see a class A diesel with a floor plan we really like...but we're not quite at the point in our lives where we can spend that much time traveling to justify it.

That's part of the fun of camping for us; we like tour the grounds and see what all everyone is doing. You get some good ideas that way pertaining to making something easier or more efficient. Don't have much envy now with our latest TT. Get a kick of people pointing at our TT with googly eye... yep, we were there... looking for that upgrade. I do admire how a lot of people keep their rigs looking new.

Very rarely because I know all the internals are relatively the same no matter the brand. But then I see a beautiful old Prevost built like a tank and with all that riveted together aluminum and feel a twinge of jealousy. A nice Airstream still catches my eye but I know they have their problems too.

We are always looking for our "next" trailer, but for us it will be a bit of a downsize once the kids no longer travel with us. We figure we have around 3-4 years before we get rid of our x213 and look for something like the 195RB. Queen bed walk around, table and kitchen... Just wish they had bigger fridges...

We usually do a walk around and look. Lot of nice older rigs around and nice new ones as well. Just bought our new one last year so the bug hasn’t began again yet. But it takes a while to get bad. We had our last 5er for 18 years.

We walk around and look. Sometimes we even daydream about a DP or something like that. More money in those than we have (or are willing to throw into it). So the daydream is pretty brief. And we're happy with our current rig, so that makes it a bit easier.

More often, we look at features of different units that look like they may be a good idea. Mods too. And we look at pretty much all different types of units when we're looking for those things. We came up from a TT, so I know that a lot of that information transfers over to our MH.

I think our "twofootitis" is pretty well cured at this point. Maybe when the boy gets old enough to not want to go along any more, we'll look at something else... but still that's just a maybe; our rig will make a nice "couple's" rig too...

We dream like most of us here. We would like to have a diesel in either a DP or super C. We tow a Jeep on a trailer and it maxed out our current class c Greyhawk 29 MV.
We are happy with what we have though and not ready to upgrade yet.
We have only had this one a year, so it is not even broke in yet.

We do look at other rigs while walking the dog, but we're very happy with our simple little trailer. We don't have 2 footitis, and there's a lot of really nice RVs out there, but there hasn't been any we've seen that we like better. Since it's normal to have a dream, I do have one. But a 45' DP is a few hundred dollars over our budget, so I just look, and dream.

Its all your people's fault, I read this thread and went straight to Jayco's web site to look at the new trailers there. I still do not like the new prices that goes with a new RV. LOL grass is greener syndrome got me. I always look, but am happy with what we have for what we use it for.

LOL!! We saw a site that made us ask that last time out. They had a small camper that literally vomited out dozens of containers into the site! There was SO much STUFF!! We walked by that site at least a half-dozen times, and every time, we were scratching our heads. Where the heck did they put all that stuff?

Most of the time at our site, you'll see a couple chairs out. Maybe the grill. And that's about it. We keep it pretty simple.

I can't believe how much STUFF some people bring and set out in their sites!

I walk around and look at the various campers and even tents and think I am glad I have the one that fits me. As to other Campers I just wonder how much they have to pay for one of them or what are the monthly payments that I am not having to make just for a few more comforts. I will stick with my 21 foot hybrid for a few more years.

We enjoy looking at the other rigs, but are NEVER tempted. We prefer a travel trailer with no slides (26BH), so that rules out just about everything.

Also, we extensively modified the interior of our's, so it's pretty unique.

So, nope, we're envy proof.
