Fuel from fuel station

With all the issues we have had, the fuel station seems to be working fairly well.

However.

I have found that even after a day or so, the first bit of fuel that I pump is a dark brown like a dark lagger beer.

Is this something to be concerned about with our ATVs. Is this going to be clogging things up or worse?

I've noticed that too. I try and remember to catch the first little bit in a can and use it to start the campfire.

What type of fuel are you putting in there? Is it non-oxygenated or just regular pump gas?

I wonder if the ethanol it is varnishing, or reacting with the components. I do not have a toy hauler but I do have old cars and toys, Hence I only run non-oxygenated as it does not have nearly these issue, and is a lot more stable.

I use regular pump gas. I have been doing same. Squirt first bit in a cup and use to start fire. I just don't like leaving the gas around while waiting for fire. :-)

This ethanol gas sucks. I dump a can of sea foam every time I fill up the tank.

I put (fresh) five gallons in my station 3 days ago and pumped it out today just to make sure everything worked OK, which it did. I also got the dark fuel for about the first quart. This is not enough time for the ethanol to react. My question is does the gas come out this way every time or just the first time the system is used?

I have run 4-5 tankfuls through my unit and it still comes out brown at first.

Since it's been over 2 months and nothing new, I'm guessing no one knows the reasoning for this? I haven't used mine yet, but I bought it used. I'm about to go riding for Veterans Day weekend and will be filling it up then. I don't wanna waste fuel tho.

steel tank's and cheap fittings. I changed all my fittings and extended the fuel hose 10 feet. I still get the brown nasty looking stuff so it is the cheap steel tanks. Would have been much better to have poly tanks, however I wonder if DOT regulations required steel? Also I took the fuel fill necks off and punched out the balls so I fill the damn thing.
