Electrician Help Needed

I'd like to install a 12V LED dimmer that I purchased to dim my cabin pucks as well as my Awning strip light. Wires in and out of the toggle switch don't remotely look like what I have out of my dimmer switch. I'd like to keep the toggle functionality of 100% light on/off but simply add the dimmer after these toggle switches. I've not cut anything for a voltmeter reading, looking for a starting direction. below are actual switch/wires, my wire diagram, dimmer switch. Thanks

I separated my awning and step light last year. I had a similar setup on that switch. I documented it here - https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...mer-76830.html

I have installed those all over my coach with great success but you need to have the negative wire at the switch. I had to fish negative wires to my dimmers in several locations. I have a full schematic I can post once I am home from work.

LED Dimmer Schematic

Here you go. Yes it's 45 degrees off, it's a forum upload thing.

Thanks for the diagram. The seller offered the following information but not sure what exactly this means.

Also, what does the yellow tape on the wire indicate?

Another word for series is inline. This means you will cut the wire in half and connect one lead of your new item to one of the wires and the other lead to the other wire. This puts the new device "INLINE" with the current wire. This is usually done with the positive (12 volt) side.

Think of it like putting a water filter inline (in series) with a hose. You cut the hose and connect one end of the filter to each end of the hose you just cut.

Your dimmer has 2 input and 2 output wires. It should have come with a wiring diagram showing how to connect it. I once looked into putting one of those dimmers in my rig but ended up just turning off the main ceiling lights and using the 2 lights in the dinette area when less light was needed. Call me lazy.

The LED's must be dimmable. Led's are polarized.

Jayco has been using dimmable LED's for over 6 years. Most LED's produced in the last 8 years have been dimmable. His rig is a 2020, his LED's are dimmable when the proper dimmer is used.
