It's to plug into shore power with an extension cord and not have to drag the coach cable out.

The guy at the dealership doesn't know either....it's for an engine block heater.

So now I have two different responses. To be honest, my original thought was that there was an engine block heater installed, but the first response sounded reasonable.

So, have you tried the "smoke test"? Have you plugged it in? What happened? If you can warm your soup on an otherwise cool engine...OTOH if it blows a breaker...

Engine block heater. I use it when traveling in winter or when I need to start the engine during cold snaps. Don’t keep it plugged in any more then you need or you can spread a lot of money on electric. It really sucks the power

Thank you. So there’s a block heater already installed?

Why? and where do you intend to put it? you do know that all the wiring must be moved also right? I hope you have deep pockets. The inverter is not hidden behind it. the Converter most likely is.

The engine block heater is 1500 watts. Unlike a 1440 watt water heater in the rv, the cooling system is big enough that it will run continuously, even the models that have a thermostat. To get the best performance out of the block heater, it’s best to plug it in right after you park the unit while the engine is still warm. It does better that way than going out and plugging in a cold engine. 38 years as a tech at a Kenworth dealership. Jay
