Just spent last 5 days in Frankenmuth, MI and visited the Dow Gardens and Canopy walk in Midland! That's it for us! Doin' that 'winterizing thing' today! Hope for an early Michigan spring!

We were supposed to go this weekend, but with the weather going to be crappy and work demands, I canceled. We did go a couple weekends ago so I guess that's now my last one for the season.

Leaving for Natural Bridge, Va on 10/31/19 thru 11/4/19. Should be the last one but the DW (Darling Wife) will surely have one more up her sleeve closer to home...

I’m “closing” the season by flying south to Texas on Tuesday for 5 months of sunshine and warmth at my favorite RV park. The RV and tow vehicle are stored nearby.

Dakota's

Closed out the season with a 3 week trip through North and South Dakota. We usually just drive through both states on our way west but this time we spent all 3 weeks there. Beautiful state parks and nice weather so we had a great trip. Plan to go back to Custer State park in May to see the buffalo calves.

Closing....yeah right.

Our annual "winterizing" is done Columbus Day weekend. For that, we take in all of the summer tchotchkies, drain and winterize the water tank and rake leaves. I fill up all 5 propane tanks for Winter furnace use. We'll probably camp on nice weekends thru the rest of the year. January and February are sometimes iffy, but my AWD CUV can always navigate the uphill driveway as long as the snow is a foot or less.

Now caveats.....we don't have any troublesome slideouts, so snow does not encumber us. We have an outbuilding that is our commode year round. We are not wusses that can't stand freezing temps.

Oh, did I mention that our camp is in southern NY, just south of Buffalo, NY.

We're heading to Florida/Carolinas as soon as soon as Thanksgiving is done. If it weren't for that, we'd be waiting to get our trailer back from the dealership so we can get it ready to go before that. We plan to go out year round, with Cincinnati as a base, so we'll need to learn how to winterize and dewinterize several times a season. Haven't winterized once yet, but watch a lot of videos about it..

Possible one more weekend here in SW Ontario ..... heading to my dealer ( 4 hrs away)first Saturday in November, trading in the 26BH for a 265RLS, and if weather is nice, head across to The Pinery for one or two nights to try her out. It'll be winterized, so no using the facilities inside the trailer. It's hit and miss her in Ontario for November, two years ago, its was 65 degrees!

We are retired so we do not end our season! We travel to cool weather locations in the summer, to warm weather locations ( the Keys) in the winter and visit fishing locations along the Gulf of Mexico in the fishing season! Travel while you can!

Spent the last weekend at at lake skinner with my brother and all the kids. Going to check out a new KOA at lake Vail next month before thanksgiving. Then skip the rest of the holidays and start up with the weekend trips through the winter avoiding what snow we do get in the mountains here in SoCal. Thinking Julian in January.

What we do to end season

Joined the RV Travel Club and attended there National Rally in Branson, MO.
We missed the first snowfall in the Denver, CO area but it snowed the day after we got home. Great fun, made new friends, and a leisure ride home to end the season. Mike & Lynda, Highlands Ranch, Colorado

We just got back from 5 days Townsend, TN / Smoky Mnt Natl Park; 4 days in Clearwater, FL; and 3 days Chatsworth, GA / Fort Mnt State Park. Winterized the coach yesterday, and now we're planning out next years big trips and the dates we need to book. Love the camping life!!
