Long term camping in a class c

Has anyone ever camped in a 25 foot class c for a month or more? We are considering going to fla for a month in winter as a test with our corrent class c. If it does not work we would consider a larger class a gasser.

We never did it in a 25 footer but did go for 5 weeks on our previous 31' winnebago class C with 1 slide out. While we had more room than you will have, I think the comfort of the seating is of prime importance to you going for 4 weeks. If you have a jack-knife sofa, I don't think you are going to be comfortable for a long period.

Thanks, we have a 2019 jayco class c 22j with slide out bedroom. We were at an rv show and fell in love with a tiffin allegro open road gasser 34pa. So before we commit to a change just wanted to do a test trip to fla. To see if we were going like it before possible change. Tiffin was $ almost 200,000 minus our unit...

Thats like wondering if you’ll like a Lexus more than a Dodge K car from the early 80s!

We did it for 4 weeks in a Jacyo GH31ss. The lack of comfy seating (dinette and jackknife sofa only) had me in a folding web strap chair after a couple weeks of sitting in the dinette. We now have a 28' TT with recliners, mo better for us in our mid 60's.

You can’t take the money with you and maybe your kids are going to waste it. Spend your money on comfort and enjoyment, you earned it and deserve it.

Past summer did 10 weeks in 32’ rig. Do not see why you could not do it in shorter rig. No big deal.

Enjoy the journey

I would suppose it would depend on how much time you actually spend inside the rig, versus doing other activities. If you spend all day, sitting inside watching TV, I would think it would get old. If you're doing other activities, and just using the rig as a base of operations and a place to sleep, then it probably would be fine.

We were gone for 2.5 mos our first year along with 4 small dogs and no problems. We are getting ready to depart for SIX months in April with now 3 dogs and we are all aging (73 and 79). Our rig is 26 ft. I find this a perfect size for maneuverability. Hubby did tours while I stayed with dogs and visa-versa.don’t ask if you can/should....follow your heart and head. And happy travels.

We are a family of 4. A handful of years ago, while we owned our Greyhawk 31FS (32' Class C bunkhouse with 2 slides), we decided we wanted to camp seasonally. We decided to give it a try for 1 month. We survived, so decided the next year to go for the season. After 2 months, we realized, the Class C was just too small for the 4 of us. The next year, we decided to upgrade to a Destination Trailer. Unfortunately, the one we wanted was not available and had to endure another season in the C.

We came to realize that we endured the month. We were excited to be there long term and had a lot of family to visit, etc. Once we started staying the entire season (5 months), we were doing a lot more living in the Class C and it just wasn't large enough to do that.

If you plan to stay in one place for the entire month, I think you'll find the limited living space in your Class C (does it even have a couch?) a challenge. If you move around a lot, it might be easier to deal with as you'll probably be out explorer more.

+1

My dad tells me all the time when I ask him what's he up to; "spending your inheritance". I tell him "Spend it up pops, have fun! You earned it and I don't need it!"

You only get one lap, better make it a good one!!

Thanks for your info. We are a beach couple and are looking at fl. West coast destin possibly. Where ever we go must have a beach mostly ocean, cape cod, maine ma. , virginia. So would not be spending much time in coach. Also use enterprise rental for sit seeing and they are great...

I agree with this. I think for us, we would adapt to our floor plan. It would certainly be a consideration, but I'm not sure it would be the primary one. Granted, the longest we've ever spent in our MH is 12 nights, and that was on a multi-day cross-country trip.

I also agree with switching out the sofa (ours is the tri-fold) whether it's a Class A, C or even a TT. I hated the one in our TT, and I'm really not a fan of the one in our MH. There are only 2 reasons it's survived this long; 1) because we've actually used it twice 2) budget.

Even if you're not spending the days/night sitting around in your rig, I think this is a worthwhile upgrade. We don't spend much time in our rig when we're out, but it's frustrating not to have a comfortable place to sit and watch a movie at night before bed (which we do a lot).

We've been out for months in our 25 ft. We spend practically the whole summer in it every year (4 months on and off). We're perfectly comfortable and content, have plenty of storage (actually, we always take too much), and we find many advantages to a smaller motorhome. We can go just about anywhere, maneuverability is good in tight places, there hasn't been a national park we can't drive through, etc. We've always owned smaller rigs, so we're used to it - our 21 ft. Shasta was the most efficient thing we've ever had, and we camped with our four children in it for 15+ years. It is, however, just the two of us now. Sometimes our daughter and her 15-year-old son join us for a few days, and that's tight. We've had so many people ask for a tour of ours saying they're thinking of downsizing.

thanks, good input, we do the same for 1 week a month from April to oct. we have 2 skddish cats the have not traveled with us, which is a problem in small coach..no one can get near them except us, they hide. possible a larger coach for long term travel would make them more at home.

Cherv: We lived in Destin for 8 years, 1999 to 2007. Beach is great. Charter boat fishing is great. Seafood is great. Golf. Shopping.
Don't know anything about RV parks..............
Like others here have said: If you're active and out and about, Class C can be perfectly OK.
