I get 99mpg going down hill with a tail wind... and .1 mpg going uphill with a head wind.. and the average is around 7-9 at 70ish... When we went to Glacier last year I carried 12 gallons of gas in case we didn't get a gas station in time.. but never needed it ... always a place to fill up and with a 26 gal tank my range is a bit limited...
to the above yes the cost of a hotel room $300 give or take unless you want to stay at a motel 6.. uggggggg.... and food eating out for 4 twice is going to run you another $100... unless you do mcndons the whole time...
it is still cheaper to haul your house than it is to stay at hotels and eat out all the time...
