So Long
Sold my 22J yesterday and won't be looking for something else, just not our bag I guess. Wanted to thank all the folks who helped with all the questions, and those who argued (you know who you are) with me over cool topics. Did enjoy the ride (mostly, will never drive in Nebraska again) and messing with the MH, but too many worries and other priorities.
Take care all, stay safe and well.
Phil

I understand the sentiment! There are days that I'm glad its out there and then quite a few when I wish it wasn't.
Drop in from time to time and just say "Hello!"

Take care Phil!
And, I share your sentiment on driving in Nebraska!
(Was it you that stated, "driving across Nebraska isn't an adventure, it's a career"?)

If nothing else you tried it and won’t wonder down the road what it would have been like. Camping was more so something my wife wanted to do. She and the kids absolutely love camping and we’ve made tons of memories over the years, but it’s a lot of work for me! So I don’t necessarily love it like they do, but I’m thankful for the memories. Take care!

Best of luck to you sir.
What's wrong with Nebraska? I had a fine time driving through there last Fall?
Now, driving across Texas? That's an issue. Some beautiful places in our great state, but it takes FOREVER to get out!! Just about an entire day's drive in any direction from where I live...

You are always welcome back!
Looks like you got a lot of miles under your belt.
Nebraska is one boring state to drive across. You need one of those 1990's anti-theft steering wheel lock bars. Set the steering wheel, set cruise control, take a nap for an hour. Wake up, make a small steering adjustment if needed, take another nap. Repeat until Nebraska is in the rear view mirror.
Good luck with our next chapter.

Yeah, crosswinds suck. We had some pretty bad ones driving E-W across Northern New Mexico.

I used to do Ag Flying in Nebraska. What's wrong with Nebraska other than it is as flat as a pancake.

Either it or one of the states surrounding it sucks!
Towing a trailer through Nebraska is like a 30 pound kid flying a large kite in a hurricane!

Hope you did good with your sale. Seems to be a good time to sell used units. Everything we do tends to be a phase in life. Enjoy what ever life brings your way. Safe travels
Enjoy the journey

Well, Phil, it was great following you through your "adventures" and I knew that your investment and trip was a means to a very important end.
RV's aren't for everyone and I am happy you are in your new home and looking after the family.
At least the 22J got you there .
Stay safe and well, my friend...
Jim

We crossed thru Nebraska on our way to Colorado. Nebraska IMO is a beautiful state and nice highways. As for giving up the the trailer? I almost did after my mother passed. After the disastrous camping trip with the hubby during the 4th will never go camping with him again. Ever. He stays home. Can't wait to go solo.

Just thought I'd revive this thread and annoy everyone! Still miss the MH some but the 18 degree temp and snow tempers the regret a lot. As does not worrying about how its doing in storage, have the mice eaten anything yet, etc etc. Thought about renting a unit come Spring but they want enough to buy the sucker outright. Egad. Hope all are well and not going too stir crazy. Had our first covid vaccines yesterday so hope to be alive come spring.
