Just got my 2018 NP FLWS back with all new gusset repair in front end along with gusset in propane tank area per Jayco. Maiden voyage of 1,200 mi and it's cracked on both side again even worse than B/4. Dealer and Jayco are very responsive. Jayco wants the unit back at there shop this time for repairs and to see what's going on.

What kind of roads did you travel on?

Were there any highway speed instances where the rear of the truck moves up and down a large amount? Thinking of a move where it's not a sharp bang but a dip in the road where the rig kinda porpoises.

Well I can join the crack club. 2017 Eagle MBQS that just went out of warranty in early April. Our spring here in Ohio has been terrible so I never got the camper opened up until mid May, that's when I found the crack. First run thru the dealer and Jayco has denied covering it because it's out of warranty. I have 1 call into Jayco and haven't heard back. Will be calling them again today. I"m also not happy with the dealer and the "repair" that their body shop wants to do. The body shop manager submitted a repair estimate to Jayco for a little over $1000, this was to glue an aluminum plate over the crack and paint the area to match and install new decals. Needless to say I'm not too happy with the dealer or Jayco at the moment.

Use email directly to Jayco Service so that there is documentation.

I called Jayco direct, didn't bother with the dealer. I'm dropping mine off at the factory in Middlebury the end of September for repairs and some other warranty work. Brittanie is my service agent.

Not wanting to jinx myself as I have no crack nor do I want 1. We have the Firestone airbags and run approx. 35 psi in them. Have an old Reese hitch in the truck. We just this spring swapped tires to the Goodyear Endurance. We've got probably 7500 miles on it.

Hi Dargo,

Sorry, I hadn't checked this thread in a few days. So far, Jayco is still denying the warranty claim. The last email I rec'd, Austin said he was going to talk to his boss on what they could do. That was on 6/25. I just emailed him again.

Hi Dargo,

Good news for me, Jayco has stepped up and is going to fix my sidewall crack under warranty, our warranty was up in April. I was dealing with Austin, he is apparently no longer with Jayco. I rec'd a call earlier this week from Jennifer, she asked if I could bring my camper back to the factory for repair because they didn't like the way the dealer was going to fix it. I didn't like the dealers fix either. The dealer was going to glue an aluminum plate over the area and paint to match. My 5th wheel now goes back to the factory for the fix, they want it from 8/12 to 8/30. Most years I would complain about that, but this year my daughter is moving into college during that time period and right now we have lots of other family commitments that have/will keep us from doing alot of camping this year. Luckily for me I only live about 2-1/2 hours from Middlebury.

Just another question. How many people with the crack have a generator vs cracked without?

Sidewall crack study-what’s your setup?

I carry a 2800 watt Champion in lieu of the Onan...it’s 1/3 the weight, have the gen prep pkg though, three 50 lb 12v batts up front, but I also carry a 16” dobsonian telescope and other heavy astronomy accessories. Taking the rig back to Middlebury in early Sept for round 2 on our crack.

Very nice to hear they are stepping up. Seems like the rep you get will make a difference. 2.5 hours is definitely worth having the factory do the repair.

Thank you for the update and I hope the repair works out well.

Seems like it will not be out of commission for too long.
