There are two views on this forum. One group says always inflate the tire to maximum.

The other group uses the manufacturer’s load rating to set tire pressure, for instance the Goodyear Endurance chart here: https://www.goodyearrvtires.com/pdfs/rv_inflation.pdf

I believe that running at lower air pressures improves ride, which reduces wear-and-tear on the trailer.

I run max pressure on all my trailers. Camper / Utility and Auto Transporter. I run max on my tow vehicle when I am towing. I will reduce pressure in the truck slightly when I am not pulling a trailer... Like David said - there is definitely a split of opinion on this topic!

I currently work in the shop of a motor coach company. We keep all our coach tires inflated to max psi as well.

I go with the number on the sticker on the inside of the front door panel....
It says 61 psi.
We have a 2017 Jayco Melbourne 24M on the Mercedes Sprinter chassis.
Tire wear seems to be normal. Ride is good...

Yes, run what the sticker and tire tells you.

According to the Goodyear site my D rated tires at full pressure are way over my actual axle weight pressure they recommend.
That is 2060 at 65 vs 1850 at 55.
Has anyone ever actually lowed the psi on a trailer and what was the result. Tire wear, fuel mileage decrease, handling, etc.

Real world experience is what I would like to know.

My cabinets shook apart on rough roads in Colorado, literally, the frame on one is splitting and doors popped open. It did not do this with the 50 psi Raineers last time.
