Water pump running non-stop stop/system problem

Prepping for our upcoming RV trip and after filling the fresh water to sanitize the system, I turned on the pump and it runs continuously. All the faucets are off and no water is leaking out that I can see. When I try to run water from any faucet, the cold runs fine, maybe a little low on the pressure. Trying to run hot water just gives me air. Thoughts? Please help. We're supposed to leave in 3 days.

Have you filled the water heater tank? If you winterized, it may still be in bypass mode. Try hooking up to city water, make sure your by pass valves are correct, and try bleeding off the air in the water heater by opening the pressure release valve.

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not.

Same issue happened to me with my new 29.5BHOK. Took it to the dealer, and they said there was a leak at the water pump. I would check there first.

And if you don't have all the valves set properly it may just be recirculating.

Sounds like the water heater tank is filling and displacing the air. At home, I connect to the city water connection to fill the tank, as it seems faster. I also open the pressure relief outside to bleed the air off, and to ensure if I get distracted and walk off I do not fill my grey water tank full.

I pressurized the system with "city water" and I didn't hear anything running and it held pressure, even with the supply shut off, so I figured it wasn't my worst nightmare - a cracked pipe.

So call me a total noob... This year was the first winter I drained the hot water heater completely (rarely gets below freezing here.) So... You're right, the hot water heater hadn't filled up yet.

Thanks fort the help. Vacation saved!!!

Make sure that your hot water valves are in the correct position. After filling you fresh water tank, make sure your fill valve is in the city position.
