I installed the Fox Shocks and Sumo Springs in the front yesterday. Im not sure if a single component or combination of all made a difference but all I can say is WOW! Much nicer ride, especially the front, you dont feel any jolt when hitting potholes or man covers like before. I am guessing its the Sumo Springs, but the body roll is 100% better than before, there is one transition between my house and the highway that really threw it from side to side and you could hear everything in the cabinets slam back and forth.....nothing like that now, even my wife noticed the big difference. The shocks i took off, one was leaking and both had absolutely NO compression dampening. I emailed Fox and asked about the valving and they said it will work fine on the 10k front axles of the S2.

Can you please get us the part numbers of the Fox shocks and Sumo springs please? Sounds like they would be a great addition.

Fox Shoxs
This is fantastic information. Looks like the Sumo's stop the bottom out. Are you in a 2018? I am wondering how long stock shocks work for. Seems not long.
Do you mind asking how much the Sumo's and install were?

Fox Shock #980-31-007
SSF-503-40 - SumoSprings Front for Freightliner M6 102 | Left/Right Pair | 1000 (lb) Capacity at 50% Compression | Made in the USA
Being the drivers side shock is mounted in front of the axle along with the shock and the Fox Shock has a nice shaft protection shield around the bottom, I did have to clearance the Sumo mounting plate about 3/8" in right next to the shock but should not affect it at all.

Mine is a 2018.5 S2 chassis.
The Sumos are $317 but they had a year end sale with 25% off and thats when I decided to try them out. I have always heard nothing but good about the Sumo Springs and they have a 30 day money back guarantee.....they are worth it IMO. I installed them myself, very simple installation, I used the front levelers to raise the front in to set them on the springs and then just bolt down with 2 bolts. When the coach is sitting on the ground the Sumos are slightly touching the frame and have a 1k rate at 1/2 compression. There is a bump stop on the top of the spring pack but it is tiny and there is no sign of it ever touching the frame.

Jaquesmm,
Which Safe-T-Plus unit did you order? What did installation cost? Did you notice a difference in the steering?

I'm all in at the dealer for $1080 installed. You will need to measure the u Joint. go on the safety plus website and will tell you what measurements.
I have seen 3 different part #'s that Jayco and Enterra owners have used. Not sure why. Should be one part #

Depending on the year, 2018.5 and up have a very heavy duty rear sway bar. You really wouldn’t need anything on the rear as there are no bump stops with the air bag suspension. Sumo makes them for the rear of a Freightliner but only with rear leaf springs.

Sorry, I missed that post.
I did not install myself, I went to Safe T Plus in GA and they did the installation. I will try to find the invoice and give you the numbers.
Next job: install the Fox shocks.

Does anyone know if the fox shock upgrade is necessary on the 2020 and up models as well? Looks like it's a great upgrade so wondering if the newer units had same suspension.

Not necessary, but an improvement. Our is a 2018.5, the same chassis as yours. What prompted me to make the change is I had a shock leaking but I wished I would have done it sooner.

Good to know. So does the 2018.5 and 2020 share all the same suspension?

Fox Shox
So Sach's are decent but won't last very long at top performance. My tech at the dealer said yes upgrade them. Fox is on all my motorsport and mountain bike stuff. Quality is AAA+. They are serviceable as well. Huge! Seems after 15k to 20k miles these things are shot.

When I pulled my factory ones off there was absolutely NO compression dampening and very little rebound. This would account for the bouncing and I assume they are like that new. I went with the Fox shocks as I like the ability to be able to rebuild them and it’s pretty simple and cheap……..and familiar with them

Regarding Sumo Springs. I know there were some Freightliner changes in 2020. Part doesn't come up for 2021 or 2022. I have a support email out to Freightliner and to my Freightliner service center. Just want to make sure the sumo's fit. Looks like there is a rear one, but that comes up for the M106 rear. Being an RV I'd like to add these if they fit.

The rear Sumos are for leaf spring chassis which are NOT used on the Senecas. I used the ones for the M2 chassis front after emailing Sumo Springs on my 2018.5 and they fit fine. You will probably not get a good response from Freightliner saying they are not needed, Manufacturers will say things like that about aftermarket products
The switch from the M2 chassis to S2 Chassis happened in 2018.5
