24rbs furnace problem

I’ve searched but wasn’t able to find a similar situation. The furnace in our 24rbs isn’t working. While troubleshooting, I noticed there’s a 20 amp fuse instead of a 15. The fuse appears intact but wondering if that’s the source of my problem. Replaced with a 15 and reset the furnace but still not working. (The fan will turn on briefly but no heat.)
What would most likely be damaged if the incorrect fuse is the source of my problem? I am not handy and don’t have any experience with electrical stuff so the dumbed down version would be appreciated lol.

If the fan runs for a short time and there is no ignition it is a good possibility it is your sail switch. They get stuck with dust, debris, dog hair etc. and will not allow the gas burner to open for ignition. The purpose of the switch is to ensure air flow prior to allowing the burner to ignite. The air from the fan closes the switch but when it gets clogged with debris it can't close.

To access the switch for cleaning or replacement in most cases you have to remove the furnace from its mounted location as the switch is internal.

Thanks so much for your response. This makes sense since the dogs use the couch that sits over the furnace. So if the switch is the problem, it would unlikely be related to the incorrect fuse being used?
Will try cleaning the switch as soon as I figure out how to remove the sofa above it. Thanks again!

Did you buy the RV new, or used. If new, it would be puzzling as to how it had a fuse with a higher amperage. Used is another story, and the reasons for why it had a higher amperage fuse are endless. Being that it has the correct amperage fuse now, you should be safe if an electrical problem overloads the circuit.

The sail switch is easy to access if you have an access panel on the outside of the camper. Not so easy if you have to remove from the inside.
Here is a great video for understanding how the furnace works.

It was used. Still, not sure how I managed to not notice the wrong fuse until now.

How can I tell if it needs to be replaced? Finally got around to accessing it today and it’s spotless.
