Coleman Mach thermostat

Our 2017 Jayco Jayflight 23rb has the Coleman Mach thermostat. We can get AC on one speed only (high). Fan alone is also one speed only (high). This is how it has been since new. The dealer told me "operating as it should". Also true of the heat setting.

Did Jayco install a thermostat that doesn't utilize high and low speed as indicated on the face of the unit?

I wanted to include a picture of it but I can't figure out how to do that yet!!

Is it not hooked up properly?

any suggestions appreciated

When I had the Colman thermostat the high and low speed did work just fine, however after one season I tossed in a box and I stalled a Honeywell home thermostat that can run on batteries.

The Colman is horrible when trying to adjust the temperature in the couch. It may be that your low wire is not hooked up.

Thanks for the info. I've ordered the digital version of the Mach thermostat and I'll see if I can resolve the wiring issue if there is one.

Many on here have made the switch to the Mach digital. It is an easy wire to wire swap. Plus you won't get big temp swings while running things because the digital has a +/- of 1*. You'll love it.

Not sure about two speed fan wiring.

I made the swap from analog to digital Coleman-Mach thermostat almost as soon as I brought my 23RB home. It is a wire for wire swap, and as mentioned above, it will hold the temp to within +/- one. Set the temp for 78, and the AC will come on at 79 and shut off at 77. And the opposite for heat.

Unfortunately I can't run out an check if I have two speeds available. My 23RB is in for some warranty work.

I swapped out both of mine analog to digital and early. Best mod ever. Mine had 2 speed fans before and after.

Mike, I think this is the one I used to replace the old analog Coleman in my Eagle but it was 4 years ago so I can't be sure. This one is very common and just cross reference it with the provided info on the site.

Installed the new digital model of the Coleman Mach (8330-386) today and wired it exactly as the old analog one was wired. Still only one fan speed but all else works ok. Think maybe the factory wiring is incorrect but that's a little beyond my abilities. May try to get a wiring diagram from Jayco if that is possible.

If I remember do you have a blue and grey wire?

John, something's amiss. No reason not to have 2 fan speeds. You might want to remove the inside cover on your AC and take a look in there at the wiring. It may be something simple.

I'll give that a try tomorrow and see if I can figure anything out. I'm one of those dangerous unprofessional electricians with more ambition than knowledge

After reviewing the operation chart and trying the thermostat (new digital 8330-386) I do have hi and low fan speed and all is working well. Some of you were sure right that the digital unit is a whole lot better than the old analog.

I'm a bit humbled by not understanding the operation in the first place!!!!! Did not have any literature on the old thermostat so that is my excuse!!!!

Thanks to all of you for your advice and suggestions.
