the port that says com on your picture is where the blk wire should be plugged in and yes you can leave the dial set where it is

Did what you said and both the trailer battery and aa battery read 0.01 Maybe my OHM is broken? The wires got hot instantly from the 12v battery on the OHM. Wow!

What do I do? As soon as I touched the black wire from the OHM to the battery it got super hot. See why I am worried about my battery being plugged in. lol

hold on a sec I will go online and look up the settings for your ohm meter to test a 12v circuit

ok plug the red wire on the ohm meter in to the one right above the blk in the common port instead of the top one and make sure the meter is turned on the try it again ... it shouldn't get hot

goes into the com hole and the red goes into the hole with v and ma beside it with the little upside down horse shoe looking thing beside it that is an ohm symbol

well that seems on the high side ... disconnect the charger ... make sire you turn it off first then check the battery again

Ok did that and it was in the 15.80 range......however the tender was still showing "charging" not "maintaining".

well still seems high to me with the charger disconnected from battery it should be reading no more than 13.6 volts but at least we are getting closer lol .... wires aren't getting hot now are they

now that you know what reading is you can go and test that plug on truck by touching blk to a ground such as frame on truck and touching red probe to the corresponding prong for 12 volt battery in the plug diagram with ignition in the on position and it should read from 12 to 14 volts

well when I was looking at the pic of your trickle charger it didn't have the check battery light lit so I think you are fine, as long as the charger shows charging the battery will take a charge

if there is a clean spot on it ... it wont ground through paint though ... you could try touching black to the steel mount that the plug is mounted to ... also just for a check you could turn right turn signal on and check that wire with it ... it would be a pulse reading like on off on off

Lukenick.. Just checking here. When your first hooked up your battery to the trailer and found it was dead, did you put the WHITE wire to the NEGATIVE battery terminal and the BLACK wire to the POSITIVE?
Also when you are testing your 7 way plug make sure your orientation is correct. The picture on the internet could be up and your actual plug on your truck could be sideways.
Otherwise paintinfool seems to be taking care of you.
PS... Your charging numbers are too high. Something is going on there.
I say just hook the battery back up to your TT and proud it into shore power and let the converter charge it.

Ok tried touching the receiver hole that is all rusted and then touched red to the blinker and got a pulsing reading like you said. Went up to 0.13 the highest.
