Hither Hills State Park at Montauk, NY. This weekend will be the Annual Fall Festival. The highlight is the Clam Chowder Contest. Local bakeries, farmers and other food and craft providers will sell their wares at the Green near the center of town. Hurricane Matthew decided to stay south this weekend. I am glad we will not get another "Sandy" event on long Island, but feel sorry for those that are evacuating their homes further south. They will need help to rebuild after the storm passes.

No camping for us this weekend. We did try to make some reservations at a couple of campgrounds within a half hour of home, but everyone was booked . Unfortunately, I don't have Monday off, like the DW and the kids...

Leaves are turning color very nicely here in southern Vermont, below is a picture of the iron truss bridge at Winhall Brook in South Londonderry, VT last weekend.

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in the path of hurricane Matthew.

For those that are able to get out and do some camping, have a wonderful Columbus Day weekend.!

Beautiful photos Duke! Thanks for sharing and for thoughts and prayers. . Looking forward to some fall leaves in NC in a couple of weeks. Right now we are still putting up with rain from Matthew. But lucky with no damage.

Mueller state park, colorado

Mueller state park is about 30 miles west of Colorado Springs, Co. at about 9,000 feet. Supposed to stay above freezing tonight and get up to 60 tomorrow. Still beautiful fall colors and great scenery.

Next weekend (14th-16th). Boondocking at Kern County Raceway in Bakersfield, CA. It's only 2 hours from the house, but we're practicing on friday and racing on Sat. night so Thought I'd get a little RVing in as well. My buddy runs a NASCAR Whelen All American Series late model here on the west coast and we decided to go up and run this track since we are not running our usual track (Irwindale Speedway), for reasons that are too lengthy to get into.
