Show off your backing skills

We pulled into this CG a few weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon. To say this was the most difficult backing job I ever encountered would be correct.

We are the 2nd site on the left.

I would, but by the time it took 30 minutes for me to get in, a complete do-over go-around, with neighbors asking if they could help, I didn't feel like taking pics.

Merrick, I had the same experience a few weeks ago... Neighbours did help direct me back, and had to hold a tree branch out of the way that I "nudged" on the way in... Once I was level and unhitched, I went to go put the slide out (x213 with a king size bed out the back end), found we were too close to the trees in the back... Had to undo everything, hitch back up and move forward 3 feet...

Then, to top it all off, at 4am the tree branch that I hit decided to exact revenge and come slamming down on top of the trailer (close to 2" in diameter, ~12' long)... Thankfully no damage (and my daughter was smart enough to quickly pipe up that she was OK and had not fallen out of the top bunk)...

Pretty sure I would have requested a refund. I've never seen a CG laid out like that.

How many times did you and the wife argue while backing up?

Nice parking there.
If I can't get a pull through site I do my darned best to get there way early in the day before both sides of the road are filled in with TVs and guests.

Our first time here and the cg was laid out for shorter rigs although the reservation site said mine would fit. We talk over cell phone or walkies but I did scrape the paint off the site marker, I pulled it out of the ground for clearance and the little paint scrape buffed out easily.

We scratched this one off the favorite list.

Here is a picture 4 days later when we left, it was virtually empty.

Can't show what you don't have.

And I do not have backing skills. If I could keep my eye on everything behind me, I'm good. But that not possible when I have to back into a site on a 90 degree angle especially from my right side. I really should have a back up camera on my trailer.

I can do reasonably well if backing into a 45 degree angle site from my left side.

In one of the campgrounds we were at in Florida a few weeks ago, I had a back in site that was especially tight to get in to. My oldest daughter was in the front seat with me while my wife was spotting at the rear (she's useless as a spotter but that is beside the point). Anyway, I told my daughter that her only job was to watch the large tree on the passenger side of the truck directly at the front of our site. As I was backing in, I kept asking, is your side clear?......yes. Is your side clear, I can't see it?.........yes dad, you're real close, but you have room. Are you sure?.......yes dad...........you can cut it back now........

How close was I?

Just kissed the bark on the way by. Didn't get the trailer at all somehow.

Can I please opt out of this competition??? I've got a 25' wide, flat grassy area to back up my camper for dumping the tanks. The wall on that side of my house is 28' tall and 38' long. Hard to miss, right? So far, I've tapped the house twice and almost knocked the 200a electrical service and utility meter off the wall with the ladder on the back of the camper.

Had to split the uprights here (similar birch on other side of trailer). It was in a busy campground too and had to ask my neighbor to move his truck.

Really nice spot right on beach. Got ‘r in first try!
