Had to use razor in Navy to get close enough shave for shore leave. Since then it's been a Norelco. No problems in the last 54 years, but I have a wonderfully light beard. No more teen envy of you guys with the hearty whiskers! lol

Advantages – Convenience, water saving, time saving.

Disadvantages – takes a little more room storing it, charger takes up room on the counter, cannot charge shaver while boondocking unless you have a generator, solar power etc.

So I’ll start this poll, which do you prefer?
Im 75 and been shaving since I was about 14. Use a blade and shave cream. Tried a Remington once when I was young. Didn't like it, had razor burn. I shave EVERY day as my wife prefers that clean shaven man. Other than my moustache. Had one since I was 20 years old. Shaved it off once when my sone was about 3. He asked me to shave it back on. So every day for a week or so I pretended to shave it back on. At my age I don't think I would recognize myself without one. Only once or twice a year I do miss a day. Usually when I am away hunting or fishing.

I was told you have to “train” a beard for an electric shaver. It usually takes about two weeks.

I just shaved just now with my Philips Norelco while surfing on the JOF. About 2 minutes and I have to admit, just as close as a razor, at least for me, but it took two weeks.

Last month, I was reminiscing about my grandfather who always shaved with an electric shaver. I guess that was the real reason for buying one. He passed away in 1973 and I still grieve his passing to this day.

Prior to retirement I used a blade every day. After retiring I tried using an electric every day but never felt I got a close shave. My son signed me up for DollarShaveClub. They send me 4 blade refills bi-monthly. Now I use the electric every day and use the razor probably every 4 or 5 days. The razor gives the best shave. Works for me.

I don't shave everyday to worry to much about shaving while camping. I just use a disposable razor. But if you are using an electric shaver and have mustache watch out! You get to close it'll yank a hair out. Ask me how I know. It's like getting a mustache hair caught in a flip top of a beer can. Youch!!

Only single blade safety razor for me

Only single blade safety razor for me. Electric and multi-blade razors tend to give me ingrown hairs. Needs to be a quality handle though, my cheap travel handle is not as nice of a shave as my Merker handle is my favorite. Used mostly while in the shower.
