I noticed my rear brake pads were a bit thin. So picked up a set of severe duty Brakes from Motorcraft. The wife asked me if we really needed them

Tell her the alternative is “severe duty airbags”

Got a boost of energy and took her to storage tonight, filled up the diesel & DEF tanks on the TV on the way home.

Traded it in. The RAM did a great job for us over the last 5 years but it was time to resolve my low payload issues in anticipation of a trailer upgrade. Found a great deal hiding out on the back lot of our local Ford dealer for a 2019 F-250 XLT SuperCab w/6.2L V8 and 4.30 gears. Comes in at 3216 payload, 15K tow capacity and 22K gcwr. It ticked off all the core interior features that were required (i.e. comfortable w/heated seats... ) and I didn't end up with some we didn't need such as the sun roof. As it's almost always just the DW and I moving from a full Crew Cab to the smaller SuperCab doesn't really pose an issue.

On our last trip DW and I bought some cheap bikes from Wally World so we could ride around the park with the kids. I thought I’d put the 2 adult bikes on the bike rack on the fifth wheel and put the two smaller kids bikes in the truck bed. Well, the bikes wouldn’t fit so I ended up putting them in the truck.

So today, I ordered a front receiver hitch for the truck and a bike rack for our new bikes. I’ll post pictures when I get them.

That's what I did for my new front bumper since it has the receiver hitch built in. I'll run with 2 bikes on the front and 2 on the rear. I was putting all 4 bikes on the rear of the RV, but I just wasn't comfortable seeing all the bouncing on the camera when traveling! I got the Swagman 2 bike rack, but it still sits too high on the front, so I ordered a 6" drop...still waiting on that to be delivered.

I got the swagman rack as well. I’m hoping since my receiver is under the plastic air dam, I won’t have any issues with the height.

Also, once I have the front receiver, I can get a winch [emoji3]

Thanks! Now to correct the first problem this has created - I need a 2.5" shank for the Class V receiver in order to haul around the 195RB until we figure out the upgrade. This seems to be a "circular" activity best I can tell.... At any rate we are excited to be able to look seriously now at the next trailer.

I "reinstalled" my Amsoil bypass ol filter system with some added safety precautions.

I've had it kicking around from my old cummins for a while. It worked well, but I pulled it off because the engine got so modified it really wasnt necessary anymore. Oil changes became more frequent on that truck. So I installed it on my Dmax. I had to make a new mounting bracket and get the correct filter adapter. I got some hose from a local hydraulic hose and fitting shop. The old guy there said this particular hose didnt need clamps and would not come off because it's such a pain getting it on the fittings. He said they do it all the time on industrial presses in factories here locally that they service.

Yeah, well, he was wrong. It lasted about 1300 miles and one of the hottest day last july the truck spit it off the fitting spewing $150 worth of synthetic engine oil all over the underside of my truck and under and along the side of my 5er. There was an oil slick down the middle of the road for nearly a mile long and stained it for 2 months. This was like the road version of the Deepwater Horizion.

Anyway, I got the correct hose from Amsoil and used crimp on clamps. Every threaded bolt and fitting got Loctite and security paint for easy inspection.

Nice truck. You will enjoy it. And yes, you can always continue to throw money at these things . . . You forgot about the chain hook replacement. The holes are too small for most of the standard hooks. I had to go to Tractor Supply to find something that fit mine.

Awesome! Congratulations. Looks like quite the tow machine and very good looking to boot. Which trailer upgrade are you anticipating??

There are sleeve adapters available to reduce from
2 1/2” to 2” if you can’t find a 2 1/2” shank.

5/8 shackles or heavy duty carabiners will fit fine in the hitch, then attach your chains to them.

We went to a couple RV shows recently and spent a lot of time going into all kinds of different trailers. Very impressed with the Outdoors RV units and we actually went last weekend to a dealer to get a much closer look. The top of the list at the moment is an ORV 24RKS. I will say I was a little disappointed to see how many of the floorplans in the ~27' and under size have no access to the bathroom with the slide all the way in which is a no-go for us. We were originally interested in some of those units till we saw that.

Yeah, I did that for the first trip. I decided I couldn't stand the caribiner look. Even more, it made me mad some idiot engineer designed the hitch that way.
