I also camp without hookups and have not had any condensation issues in my 2013 x17z or in my prior Qwest 10v popup. Both had stock Jayco mattresses with vinyl on bottom/cloth on top. I also use a sleeping bag, do run the propane furnace as needed and keep the bunk end windows unzipped slightly as recommended.

I never had any issues and double checked under my mattress last year after seeing posts on this forum. I bought two sleeping bags, unzipped each one, layed them flat and zipped them together. Makes a cozy bed for two!

We had that issue also, I went to bed bath and beyond and purchased a mattress case. Its like a large pillow case for the mattress and it zips up so the mattress is entirely enclosed. It helps create the barrier so cold and warm can't create condensation.

Do you think this one I found on Amazon will work?

the one form Amazon should work. If it surrounds the entire mattress. If it does not, then put the side that has the thinker padding on the bottom of your mattress. You want to make a barrier between the mattress and the bunk. Good luck!

I just got back from my 1st camping trip with my new used camper and have to report that the "AmazonBasics Hypoallergenic Waterproof Fitted Mattress Protector" used under my mattress worked. A pretty good fix for $21.95. Thanks CTcamper203, great suggestion!

How does this self inflating sleeping pad prevent condensation UNDER the mattress if it's on top of the mattress?

we had our 1st big camping since we got the hybrid and noticed the condensation when we were putting the beds up yesterday. Hot and humid, AC was very nice! 😁

Pretty sure the waterproof side was down under the mattress. Going to try the same thing soon.

Because it’s all about creating a thermal break between you and the platform. We keep the trailer on the cool side when we are sleeping

Has anyone tried the Miner's Moss method? I'm in need of something as each morning we wake up and I put a bag under the mattress to try it out. Miner's Moss looks like it will create that break that's needed. Just want to check before I order it.

I should put a self inflating sleeping pad on top the mattress to prevent condensation? I was thinking underneath? Ordered an eggcrate foam mattress topper...I planned to put it on top to increase comfort (horrible mattess in our x119h we just got!) Or I should put it underneath mattress? Thanks

The condensation happens when you are using the bed ? or when it is folded up? Thanks!

Source of cedar breather

I took a chance buying this product but can say now that it is a much cheaper solution for wet bed ends if you can find it from a roofing supplier.

As a bonus it made my beds more cushioned and comfortable too!
Does someone know where we can get some of this? We are having condensation issues in our x119h ends

If you have an extra $500 laying around.

I'm going to buy some of this and see how it works:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Cedar Breather can be found here:

Consider it an investment. People spend thousands on a bed in their home. Why should your RV be any different? Hypervent is expensive because it works. Can't vouch for the others.

We just put on a waterproof fitted mattress protector (on the bottom of mattress). Camped once and it worked. At least it protects the mattress from ever getting wet.
