Owner replaced residential fridge

The Norcold was failing, used excess electricity and wasn’t designed to operate above 5000 ft. For my application, I replaced it with the Vitrifrigo VF62. It has an efficient (mobile) compressor compared to the Norcold absorption technology. The VF62 is a 12/24 volt unit (no inverter) powered by my 24V solar system (24/7).

Before buying a fridge, make sure it’ll pass through the doorway . The old Norcold didn’t make it.

After 13 years of service my norcold fridge lost its charge. I ordered a new cooling and installed it my self. Now the fridge works better than it did before. Quiet and cold. Looking forward to another 10 years of trouble free operation.. when I'm traveling I will go for a week without plugging in, so I really like the propane option.

Just finished removing my Norcold for a 10 cu.ft. Galanz residential. A 500 watt pure sine wave inverter powers it just fine when not on AC power. Start up wattage on it is 430 and it cruises at 114. Big improvement over the Norcold.

Thanks, another one to look at. I see this one has an optional ice maker. I'm not interested in one but someone might.
